Ava was a handful. I tried explaining to her the things we needed to be careful about in Atlo, simply trying to help and she took no notice.
"Ugh. Why all these rules? We are free, free as birds in Atlo, let's just have fun!"
I sighed. Ava really didn't understand Atlo. Then I realised something - how would Ava know about Atlo if she'd never been there? I was being rather unfair with her. And besides, why couldn't we just relax and have fun? Of course, we'd have to be careful to not reveal our other forms to humans but apart from that, we could just relax, have a great time.
"So Layla, where should we go first? You know lots of good places in Atlo." Ava asked me.
I thought about all the places we could go and had an idea.
"Lets go into the city." I suggested and Ava nodded enthusiastically.
We had a great time in the city. We took the bus to the citys beach (Ava had wanted to fly there but I had to explain that we couldn't do that in daytime.) and wandered along the rows of shops, chatting to each other about how our lives had been lately. As we chatted, I noticed Ava was a very talkative girl but if you asked her about some certain things, like family, Ava would immediately shut up. There must've been a reason why Ava didn't talk about these certain things but I didn't know what. Was she hiding a secret? I wanted to know why but didn't want to keep upsetting Ava, so I avoided talking about these sort of things. Instead, I told her about my life and Ava listened intently, with a look of respect in her eyes.
"Your life sounds very interesting, Layla." Ava told me. "It's the sort of life I'd like to live."
"No, no it isn't." I replied to Ava. "You have no idea how difficult it is to have to hide secrets from ordinary humans, daily, 24/7."
"Is that so?" Ava said interestingly. "Life is one big adventure, Layla. I like to make mine as exciting as possible."
We then passed an ice cream shop on the row of shops beside the beach and I bought three ice creams for Amy, Ava and I.
We continued to talk as we walked along the beach, licking our ice creams.
"So do you enjoy challenges, Ava?" I questioned Ava.
"Yes, I do. Like I told you earlier, I am an adventurous person. However, I don't get the chance to have an adventure very often. My life is generally ordinary, with the occasional good bit."
"Good answer." Amy and I replied.
The three of us did some more things on that beach, until finally I decided it would be best that we headed back to Srrin. So then, thanks to Amy being a teleporter, she was able to teleport us back to Srrin in the wink of an eye.
I thought I'd complete my Mrjk once I was back in Srrin and never see Atlo again.
But I was wrong - this wouldn't be the last time I visited Atlo...
