Adrien didn't let Marinette out of his sight for the rest of the weekend. He just knew that Lila would target her sooner or later. Even though nothing bad happened, he was still unnerved that she got so close to Marinette so easily.
But on Monday he had to go to work, and Marinette had to get back to the store. She promised to call him if Lila showed up again, which calmed his nerves a little.
Even though she didn't have a Miraculous, Lila Rossi was still a dangerous person. Her hatred and desire for revenge fueled her. And that made her a fearful opponent.
Adrien tried to clear his mind as he worked at his photoshoot at the Parc Monseau that day. He needed to smile, but with thoughts of Marinette possibly getting hurt racing around his head, it was tough.
And things got worse when he saw Lila among the crowd watching the shoot. She was wearing sunglasses and an oversized sweatshirt to cover herself up, but it was definitely her. So he stormed right off of the set and approached her, the crowd parting as he walked through.
She smiled brightly when he stopped right in front of her. "Adrien, how wonderful to see you again."
"What are you doing here?" he demanded.
"I wanted to speak with you and apologize about what happened. I'm so sorry for knocking you out and keeping you hostage like that."
He didn't let up the glare. "Great. You apologized. Now never come near me or my wife again."
"Your wife," she repeated, her calm voice now filled with disgust. "You haven't divorced her yet?"
"That will never happen."
Lila smiled. "You don't know what the future holds, Adrien." A pause as her eyes trailed up and down her body. "Wow, you are just as handsome as the last time I saw you."
"The last time I saw you, Ladybug was punching you in the face. I wish the same thing was happening right now."
That comment got her snarl to make an appearance. "Well I'm sorry, but you won't be getting your wish."
"And you'll never get yours either," he replied before turning around and walking away.

They sat in the same seats in the waiting room. But this time Marinette didn't bother looking at all the photos on the walls; she simply held Adrien's hand as they waited. Then the same nurse called them back into the same exam room and asked the same few questions. Then the couple waited for the doctor, Adrien standing next to Marinette and holding her hand the whole time.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Dr Patel came into the room. "Good afternoon Mr and Mrs Agreste. How are you today?"
"We're fine, thank you."
"Well we'll be checking on the pregnancy. It says here that you're not sure of the date of your last period. Is that correct?"
"Yes, that's correct," Marinette confirmed. "We weren't officially trying to get pregnant, so I wasn't keeping track of it."
"It's not a problem. We'll just have to look with the ultrasound machine today to figure out how far along you are, okay?"
"Okay."
Dr Patel gave her a gentle smile. "Any problems during this pregnancy? Any bleeding or cramping?"
"No, nothing like that."
"Well I'll have you lie down and I'm going to feel your abdomen before we take a look."
Marinette lay down on the table and lifted up her shirt.
