Introduction

Being a judge sucks.

I've only done it a few times, and still received negative, publicly-made comments from people who thought my feedback/scores were too harsh.

I've also been denied a review specifically listed as reward for placing in a contest simply because other people were mean to the judge when she gave them theirs.

Being a judge is often thankless, and the incentives for judging are usually minimal. Still, so many continue to help out, and I can't help but think the main reason is altruism.

Well, I'd like to give back. Judges and award hosts (whose experiences I'm not well-versed in but seem strenuous from my outside point-of-view) this one is for you.
