(Kenma's pov)
I sat there, listening to the teacher drone on about how getting a job is important, we are only second years! I thought, oh wait......the third years finish soon. Suddenly a knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts, "yes?" The teacher groaned, he basically hates everyone who disturb his lesson he considers "important", "I've been sent by the coach to get kenma." I hear a familiar voice say, I look up to see -my crush, my best friend- Kuroo smiling at me, I look around at the other girls staring at him, "can it wait? I'm in the middle of important lesson." The teacher grumbled, "we will be late for practice." Kuroo said calmly, the teacher looks at me and smiles a very mean, fake smile, "sure. You can leave Kouzume" the teacher said, still smiling at me, with fake sweetness. I stand up, grab my bag and walk out the door, Kuroo smiles at me as I walk out to meet him, he holds his hand out, indicating that I hold his hand, I blush, "oh come on kitten, we both know you have a crush on me." He said as we starts walking towards the gym, "I-I do not!" I mumbled against my hands, Kuroo laughs, I look up at him, he's cute when he laughs I thought.
At the gym
We walk into the gym, lev, our first year middle blocker, walks up to me, "ooooh, has someone have a crush~" he teased me, "I do not. And if I did, it's none of your business." I said walking off to the change room, everyone on the team knows that I have a crush on Kuroo. They all think it's a joke, including Kuroo. I slide to the floor in the change room, "I wish I had the confidence to tell you Kuroo...but you think it's a joke." I mumbled, trying not to cry, "what do you want to tell Kuroo, but your to shy to tell him?" Someone from behind me said, I jump up and turn around, "oh it's just you Yaku." I said sighing with relief, "what. Did you think I was Kuroo?" He asked smiling, "y-yeah.." I mumbled, "you're scared to tell him your feelings?" Yaku asked, "yeah. He thinks it's a joke." I mumbled, Yaku grabs my wrist and pulls me out of the change room, I look over at Kuroo, holding hands with the captain of the cheer team, h-he has a girlfriend..... I thought, trying not to cry, "n-no wonder h-he thinks my crush on him is a joke....." I whisper, Yaku looks at Kuroo, "that jerk." He mumbled under his breath, Kuroo looks over at us and walks over, "hey Yaku, this is my girlfriend akio." He said when he got to us, I look down, trying not to cry, Kuroo looks at me, then he turns to look at Yaku, I turn around and walk out of the gym. I start running, away from the gym.
I run and run until I collapsed.
A few months had passed. I slowly regained consciousness, "kenma......your wake...." I hear a voice exclaimed, I slowly opened my eyes and look over, "y-Yaku....w-what happened....?" I asked in a shaky, quiet, voice, "you walked out of the gym.....I had followed you out but you ran off....it took me....akaashi....the girls team and the police to find you.....akaashi was the one to find you." He explained, "do you know why I collapsed...?" I asked, "y-you have.....blood cancer......" he mumbled, looking down, "d-does Kuroo know...?" I asked, "no....he doesn't.....and he doesn't need to know after what he did to you." Yaku mumbled, looking up at me as a familiar face stepped into my room, "what did I do?" Kuroo asked, I took a deep breath in and exhaled, "you know what you did. Don't act like you don't know." I mumbled, "Yaku, what did I do?" He asked Yaku, "you've been treating kenmas crush on you like a joke. " Yaku replied as stood up to face Kuroo, "yeah that's because I don't feel the same way towards him." He said crossing his arms, "I-I should've known.....that's why you say that your busy to hang out.....I've been trying to change for you......we've been friends for ages and you treated me like this...." I mumbled, Kuroo stood there in shock, "I-I'm sorry kenma...." he whispered, "no. Save your apologies." I rolled my eyes.
