"Is it a bad idea to quit?" Andy questioned as she slid down her locker until she hit the floor under her. The eight hour shift went by just as she expected it, slow and uneventful.
"If you want to live in a box, sure, knock yourself out." Vic laughed as she hung her apron up and reached in her locker for her purse. "But I will be out for the night, Andy please bring me a change of clothes tomorrow, I owe you."
"You owe me like..." Andy trailed off, trying to remember how many times she's had to bring Vic a change of clothes the next day at work, and how many times she's said she owed her and not lived up to it. "Twenty-seven things?"
"Is it really that good?" Travis asked, deciding to join in on the conversation. He'd been rather quiet today, usually he'd be singing along to the music being played or joking around, but his bubbly personality only really seemed to show when he was around his friends. "You're sleeping with the enemy."
"He's our boss." She corrected him.
Andy nodded, "Exactly, sleeping with the enemy."
Vic scoffed with a shake of her head, she didn't need them to understand why she was sleeping with their boss, a woman has needs, so what?
"I love you both, and will see you tomorrow!" She called out as she walked out of the room.
A rather comfortable silence followed her departure. Andy still sitting on the floor, leaning her head back against her locker, eyes closed. Travis was also leaning against his locker, just standing up instead, eyes trained to the floor.
"Wanna order a pizza and watch a movie?" Andy asked suddenly, standing up and brushing the dirt from the floor off her pants.
"My place or yours?" Travis asked for clarification, Andy knew he could never refuse a good night in with just the two of them.
"Doesn't matter," Andy shrugged, throwing her bag over her shoulder and closing her locker. "Last time we went to yours, so mine?"
"Sounds good." Travis nodded, closing his locker as well after he gathered his things.
"Promise not to sleep with the delivery guy this time?" Andy asked jokingly, nudging him in the side a bit as they walked out of the locker room.
"That was one time!" Travis exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air, his cheeks growing red with embarrassment.
Andy laughed as they continued to walk out of the bar and into the parking lot. The two bid their farewells as they made their way to their respective cars, keeping the goodbyes short as they knew they'd see each other soon.
The drive home was a quiet one for Andy. She didn't bother to turn on any music or anything, wanting a little bit of silence for the day, needing time to unwind. There weren't very many people upstairs today, she waited on two customers the entire day, but it was enough to tire her, especially since she hadn't slept well the previous night.
By the time she reached home, Travis pulled in behind her a few moments later. They both got out of their cars, silence surrounding them as they made their way up to the front door, Andy pulling out her keys to unlock it. They went inside, kicking off their shoes, throwing their bags on the floor. Travis would get his later when he left, Andy's would stay there until she needed it the next day, and then it would return to the exact same spot after work again.
Like Vic said, routine is very important.
"I'll order the pizza, you pick the movie." Andy said, picking the remote off the side table and handing it to Travis.
He broke out in a childish smile, seemingly happy that he got to pick the movie this time. Andy normally did, in his mind this was an honor.
"And pick something good, nothing cheesy!" She called from the kitchen, she'd made her way in there right after handing him the remote.
"Aw," He fake pouted, pretending to sound sad. "So no The Notebook?"
"Or Titanic, or any other cheesy romance movie." She added, coming back into his view now, the pizza place menu in her hand and her phone tucked in between her ear and shoulder. "And no sad movie either, don't feel like crying tonight."
"Okay, okay, got it." Travis said, shaking his head. "Didn't know being put on movie duty had so many rules..." He mumbled that last part under his breath, hoping Andy would hear him since she started to return to the kitchen.
"Heard that, asshole." She shot back at him right before she passed the threshold into the kitchen. "Hi, yes I'd like to order..."
That was the last he heard of her before her voice trailed off and his attention turned back to the tv hanging on the wall in front of him. After a few minutes of searching, he finally decided on Clueless.
Andy came back into the main room, plopping down on the couch, grabbing one of the throw pillows on the couch and hugging it to her chest, curling her legs up under her in an attempt to get comfortable enough for the time being.
"Clueless, really?" She questioned, looking over at Travis who just nodded excitedly. "We've seen this like... four times?"
"Oh my god, so what?" Travis asked, clearly offended by the fact that Andy was acting like she didn't want to watch it again. "It is arguably one of the best movies of all time, and we will watch it over and over again until we have the entire script memorized, understood?"
"I love you, I really do," She started out, placing a hand on his shoulder. "But sometimes, I worry about you."
"Andrea, shut up and watch the movie." He huffed, faking annoyance as he turned his body to be fully facing the tv now. Andy just laughed and shook her head, loving the fact that she was able to joke around with him like this.
The doorbell rang about twenty minutes into the movie, Andy getting up and answering, Travis being too invested in the movie to even realize she'd gotten up and left him. He only turned his attention away from the tv when the warm pizza box was placed in his lap and the smell made its way into his nose.
"Pizza!" He exclaimed, quickly pausing the movie and opening the box to grab a slice, then sliding it over so Andy could grab one.
"You're easily excited." She laughed as she picked up a slice.
"Only for pizza, duh."
