Chapter 4

"Salute!" 

The cadets put their fist on their chest in salutation to their superior. It was already in the morning after their graduating ceremony. The 101th Cadets spend their last night at their training camp before heading off to their respective regiments. For Lucy, Eld, Gunther and five other cadets, they went to the Scout Regiment HQ early morning by carriage. The headquarters consists of 3 buildings. One for the higher-ups, one for the storage which doubled as stables and for the girl's and boy's dormitory on separates floors. Their team leader, Finn Glockner gave them a tour of the three building and stopped when they're in the dormitories.

Lucy settled in the girl's dormitory separating from Eld and Gunther who settled in the boy's dormitory. The room of four bunk beds, a nightstand and a large closet. Seeing that she's the only female that joined the scouts, she got the whole room to herself. Before leaving her room, she use her trap magic. If an unwanted person come into her room, they would immediately be caught in her trap. She will take off her magic when she was nearby to her room. Other than the three main buildings, it had rather large terrain that consisted of a large training field and forest with multiple Titan-killing courses that they would practice in. As for now, the rookies would spend most of their time learning the formation instead of training, hence the isolation from the rest of the scouts. Lucy sat at the last row by the window with Eld and Gunther. She doesn't mind as she can studied the formation by herself. Finn had saw Lucy which he call her as she stand and salute to him. He was going to give the question to her which she get answer make him feel amaze before continue their formation back. Lucy just smiled before she look at the outside of window.

During two month, Lucy and the other cadets were training hard. Finn had watching Lucy the most of her training. Lucy was showing her skill that make him feel amaze of her before he write on her report. Lucy was same level as Captain Levi. It was the morning of their first expedition. Lucy was get ready for her first expedition. Despite her worries about the expedition, she had faith in her comrades. She know that they're capable enough to handle theirselves especially Eld and Gunther. Considering that they're training together for 3 years ago and she helped them with their fighting style was enough reason for her to know that they're competent with or without her. Beside, they were best friend in 3 years. Even though she's absolutely sure that she won't die this time, she have to live because of her promise to Mikasa, Eren and Armin. She had to write the letter for them especially Mikasa. She was sure that Mikasa must miss her a lot even her parents with her.

After Lucy got herself in her Scouts uniform, she had put a trap magic before going out of her room and headed to the mess hall. She was sure that she had get up too early in the morning. It was normal for her since she want to train herself using her magic without no one know about her magic. Once she entered the mess hall, she saw a couples of Scouts who are awake and having their breakfast which is understandable. Lucy was sigh as she heading to the kitchen part of the mess hall. She then spotted someone that she know as she spotted a woman with wide, light brown eyes and shoulder-length dark brown hair that is tied in an unkempt high ponytail with bangs parted down the middle. Who seem to bothering man with a short, straight black hair styled in an undercut curtain, as well as narrow, intimidating dull gray eyes with dark circles under them, he was drinking what smelled like a black tea. Upon further inspection, she had immediately recognized them as two of the Section Commander Hange Zoe and Levi Ackerman. Even so, Lucy was seem pale as she saw Hange which she need to run away but it was too late for her as Hange noticed her.

"Lucy? Is that you?" Said Hange as Lucy stop her track make her gagged herself before she gave up turned around to face Hange. Lucy was walked toward Hange and Levi as she stop in front of Hange. She was gave them her salute with a calm face even her inside had freaking out of Hange. "Good morning, Hange-san, Levi-san." Said Lucy calmly as she feel twitch when she heard of Hange's squeal at her. Hange had stand up quickly startled Lucy a little before Hange pull her into her embrace tightly make Lucy bored at her action. 'I can't breath if she hug me like that. Why I have to meet her anyway? This is a bad day for me.' Thought Lucy bored face as she heard of Hange's screaming on her. "Oh, my god! Lucy! I can't believe that I meet you again! And now you join the scouts. That's a good thing for you, Lucy." Said Hange in hyper tone. Lucy was scowled before she kick Hange make her fall on the floor.
