Aʀᴀʙᴇʟʟᴀ's ᴘᴏᴠ

"Thank you so much sir I'm honored to work here I will try my hardest and put in my best effort". I say enthusiastically while shaking his hand. He nods and hands me back my resume. He leads me out of his office while informing me that I start next Monday and I will get an email regarding dress code, time of arrival and this of that sort.

When I start on Monday his sister who is apparently also his secretary will give me a tour and brief me on some other more specific details I would have to know as his Personal Assistant.

His office door is closed behind me as I exit and I call an Uber, while texting my brother the good news. He wants to facetime but I can't right now so I tell him I'll do it when I get home.

The Uber pulls up to the building and I take one last glance at it before hopping in and telling them an address close to my apartment. I usually don't tell them my exact address because you truly don't know what they could do with that information. It's sad that people have to take these precautions but that's just what the world has come to.

After getting out of the Uber, paying and waiting for it to drive of I briskly walk to my apartment. Taking the elevator up and inserting my keys into the door I change into something more comfortable.

I knock on my neighbor Ethan and his family's door and a small 4 year old peeps her head out the door, opening the door wider when she realizes its me. Running through the doorway and hugging my legs she says "Ella" happily.

Scarlett Evans. A true sweetheart and the daughter of my friend Ethan. Ethan has a girlfriend named Eliza who although has a deep connection with Scarlett and Ethan is not actually Scarlett's mother. Ethan and Eliza are twenty one making Ethan only 18 when him and Scarlett's biological mom had the baby.

She walked out the minute Scarlett was only a couple hours old , saying that it was too much responsibility and she didn't want anything to do with any of them. Moving to another country soon after.

After Ethan's family found out about Scarlett they disapproved of the irresponsibility of Ethan having a child so early in his life but supported him nonetheless, knowing that he and Scarlett probably would have a terrible life not being able to support themselves. Ethan got a job and moved to New York when Scarlett was 3.

After he met Eliza and Scarlett asked a lot of questions regarding why he was on his own and suddenly this random lady showed up. He ended up telling her the truth in the most appropriate way he could. Well for a 4 year old at least. It took a while for her to understand it and she was hurt by the woman's actions but she soon learned to accept it and move on.
