I woke suddenly to harsh a bump of the train. I checked my phone, we were about forty minutes away from Tokyo. I typed in my phone code, my dad's birthday, and open my latest calls so I can text Megs.
****
hey megs, it's Y/N. im like forty mins from shinagawa <3
In a matter of seconds, I saw three dots jump up and down, anxious to reply.
Cool. I'll head out now.
*MEGUMI POV*
As soon as I saw her text, my heart fluttered. I felt like a school girl. Should I have waited to text? Too late now. I tried to reply how I would normally to someone, but she wasn't just someone.
She was special.
I know I can't see her like that. Her family name is dangerous. Then again, my family isn't so warm and fuzzy either.
I slipped my phone in my pocket and slid the door of my room open, stepping out quickly, and closing it slowly to not wake anyone. I then felt a pair of eyes on my back.
"Fushiguro?" It called.
"What is it, Itadori." I said, still not turning from my door frame.
"What are you doing out of your room this late?"
"I should ask you the same question." I turned, not looking him in the eye, headed for the front exit.
"Hey, wait!" He jogged a bit to catch up to my sped up walking. "I'll tell you if you tell me!" He met my eyes with a cheeky smile. He really has a way of working my nerves.
"You'll see soon." I slid out the nearest exit to the gate.
"Have fun! Can't wait to hear about it!" Itadori called after me, sending a wave my way.
I kept walking forward, and raised my hand in a peace sign after him.
After hopping on my motorcycle, I open my phone to listen to some music. There were a few songs I'd listen to that reminded me of Y/N. They were somewhat comforting. It makes me feel like her warm smile is still there on days I couldn't bring myself to feel much of anything.
She was always the light where I couldn't find one. She didn't deserve any of what happened to her. I still feel some responsibility to keep up my role of her protector, now that she's back in my life.
It had been almost five years since she moved from Tokyo to Oikawa with her mother and eldest sister. We wrote letters to each other back and forth for about a year or so until.. well, until we lost contact. I stopped writing her back after a while.
I can't really recall why. There was so much going on, I guess I was just caught up in my own world.
I looked down at my bike and I didn't even realize how fast I was going. I was eager to see her, even if I didn't say it. I couldn't deny, I was curious to see how she'd changed.
I hurried my way down to the station, arriving a little early so she wouldn't have to wonder where I was.
Then an idea hit. A proper way to greet someone you haven't seen in years. I still had about ten minutes, and the shop was a three minute bike ride.
