"a heart what?!" pops mom wide eyed the doctor as amari walked into the room with mike behind her.
"a heart murmur. Heart murmurs can be harmless or abnormal. An innocent heart murmur is not a sign of heart disease and doesn't need treatment. Abnormal heart murmurs require follow-up testing to determine the cause. Treatment is directed at the cause of your abnormal heart murmur. his however, is harmless"
"then why did you pass out" amari asked and the doctor sighed.
"working yourself too much with a heart murmur can cause that. since you are a basketball player, your always moving fast and every week it's even worse when your going against people. so because you do this, it works your body a lot to where you might start to feel light headed and have chest pain"
"if i were you, i'd stop playing basketball" he said to pop and he scrunched his face up.
"what? that's all i ever did. fuck you talkin' 'boutstop playing" he mugged the doctor and stood up making amari's eyes widen as she grabbed his arm stopping him from getting upset. "i can handle some chest pain and headaches. ima be fine"
"well that's the thing, Mr. Jackson. the more this happens, the worse it can get. i think it's in your best interest to quit now before you blow this condition to be harder then it already is"
"bullshit" pop shook his head and grabbed his jacket. "fucking bullshit, man"

"don't follow me, Amari" he cut her off before leaving out the room, not caring that the door slammed behind him.
"again, i'm very sorry. i just think you should really consider having your son put the breaks on this basketball career" the doctor left the room, leaving it silent as pops mother rubbed her face.
now amari wasn't gonna go look for pop.. but she knew if nobody did, he probably would've started smoking or drinking which isn't something she'd usually care about but he'd only be doing it as a getaway from all the stress around him.
