Chapter Fourteen (Final)

Y/n's pov:

I had woken up early as usual, I felt a dip in my bed. I looked to my left to see Yu Yan's back facing me, I pouted. I didn't feel like getting up early this morning, I traced patterns over Yu Yan's tattoos.

Soon she started to stir, turning to face me still half asleep. She didn't say anything, she just snuggled into my chest. "Morning Yan is cute." I teased, "shut up." She whined, "oh, feisty too." She glared up at me, I pecked her nose quickly then sat up.

"Where are you going?" She asked sitting up with me, "getting up." "No, you're not. We don't have any practices until nine, it's only six thirty." She stated, I just nodded lying back down.

She lay down next to me, facing me on her side. "Hey Y/n?" I hummed in response, stroking her hair, turning to face her. "About last night..." I didn't speak, "Did you mean what you said?" She continued, I stayed silent for a minute. Not because I was reconsidering, but because I was thinking of a way to tell her how she made me feel.

"Oh, never mind." She spoke, averting her gaze to the ceiling. "I did.." I started, "I meant what I said, I do like you Yu Yan. I just- sometimes I don't know how to express myself properly. When I'm with you, you make me feel so happy that my stomach feels weird. Whenever you hold my hand, ask me if I'm okay, it makes me nervous. I don't know how to act around you, I feel shy and giddy. Though as you've probably noticed, I tend to cover up my emotions, pushing them down as far as possible." I look into her eyes, "but right now I'll tell you exactly how I feel. When I look at you right now, I feel the happiest I've ever felt. So when we get out of this show, I would really like to take you on a date, if you don't mind."

I was met by silence, and a blank faced Yu Yan. "Oh- I uhhm, it was a stupid idea-" I was cut off by squealing, "Of course, I would love to go out with you!" she pecked my lips. I let out a relieved sigh, pouting slightly. She just giggled snuggling closer to me. We stayed like that for a while.

Timeskip

The day had come, it was time for the final ranking. Yu Yan and I had talked about the details regarding our 'relationship' and we had decided to take it slow, and not mention it to anyone yet. We weren't official, but we trusted each other. We didn't need to be official to know our feelings for each other.

As the rankings were being announced I couldn't help but be distracted by the goddess beside me. She turned her head to me, sensing my stare. She smiled softly at me, intertwining our hands, then returning her attention to the announcement of fourth place.

I wasn't at all surprised when Yu Yan's name was fourth, I had expected her to easily get into the top five. While she was giving a few words, I couldn't hear what she was saying, too distracted by her beauty. I could get lost in her eyes.

This was it, they were announcing ninth place, I looked around at the other people. I couldn't help but think about how talented they all were, they all deserve to win. They've worked so hard, I hope the best for everyone here.

"In ninth place taking the final position is...

a tie?!"

The mentors looked around confused, all the other trainees stood there, waiting to find out what this meant.

"It seems as though there has been an exact tie between the number of votes for ninth place... So the last members of the9 are Lu Keran and Y/l/n Y/n, congratulations."

My eyes widened, I turned to Lu Keran, she had the same exact expression as me.

I was pulled into a hug by Jenny and Diamond. "You did it!!" They exclaimed, I had a wide smile plastered on my face. "Thank you for being the best roommates, I hope you continue to follow your dreams because I know you can achieve them." I spoke sincerely.

Lu Keran and I then walked over the producer Kun, it all went so quickly. We gave our thanks to everyone and gave a small speech. (A/n: sorry I'm lazy) We walked over to our seats, I was greeted by Xueer and Zhao Xiaotang giving me a pat on the back congratulating me.

I turned around only to be embraced in a warm hug from Anqi. "You did well, I'm proud of you." She said, as soon as she pulled away, it was Kiki who practically tackled me in a hug. "We made it!" She squealed, "you deserve to be here." I smiled, patting her back.

Now there was only one person who mattered, Yu Yan. She stood waiting patiently for me to finish, I then walked up to her, wrapping my arms around her securely. "Come find me later, I've got something to ask you." I whispered in her ear, pulling away with a sly smirk on my face.

I then walked over to Lu Keran, she was waiting by the seat reserved for ninth place. We looked at each other laughing at how there was only one seat, we decided to entertain the youth producers. She sat down and I sat on her lap, since I was smaller than her.

The fans started screaming, I could see from the corner of my eye, Yu Yan was looking at me sceptically. In return I gave her a reassuring smile.

Timeskip:

We were now gathered with all the other trainees, just catching up, congratulating and reuniting with the friends we made. Although many trainees didn't make it, there were no hard feelings.

I was speaking with some of my new members, Xueer (Kong Snow) and Yuxin (Xin Liu). Xueer seemed a bit shy, but as the conversation continued she started to get more comfortable with my presence. As for Yuxin, she was very charming, she didn't let first place go to head, she was just thankful to be here.

It wasn't long before the rest of the9 members had all gathered. "I'd like to say I'm very proud of everyone here for making it this far, and I hope we can have a successful future together, working hard. Now, let's get this party started!" My sister spoke, everyone cheered. Shuxin (Ester Yu) was especially loud, but everyone just laughed at her bright personality.

Amidst the chaos a hand grabbed mine, dragging me to a quieter corner. "You're gorgeous." Was the first thing that came out of my mouth, "what did you want to talk about?" Yu Yan spoke, trying to change the subject so I wouldn't notice the faint blush on her cheeks.

I smiled at her, "I know this isn't anything extravagant, but to me being here symbolises where our journey began, I hope that it is the start to a long one though. Yu Yan I would like to formally ask you out on a date." I spoke, it probably looked like I had heart eyes at this point.

She reached for my hand fiddling with the ring on my fingers. "I already told you, I would love to go on a date with you." She mumbled shyly, finally looking me in the eyes. My heart almost burst at that moment, "then I'll have to start planning for this date of ours."
