Y/n's pov:
I sat at the kitchen table quietly as the chatter around me continued to fade away slowly. The room was full of life, everyone enjoying the break together happily. 'There are so many people around me, so why do I feel so lonely?' I wanted so badly to let it all out, cry and scream, about all the shit going on inside. Yet I just sat in silence, a fake smile plastered on my face, staring at the fork in my bowl of untouched food.
"Penny for your thoughts?" A soft voice spoke, breaking me out of my trance. I turned to the voices, my eyes meeting with hers. "It's nothing Yu Yan, I was just zoning out." I said in a harsher tone than I'd meant to. She just nodded looking away, a slight look of disappointment on her face. I sighed, pushing my bowl over to Hana.
I got up, discreetly making my escape from the table, leaving the kitchen quickly. I made my way down the long corridors of the building, walking into a practice room. I stared into the corner of the practice room, thoughts to last night's events filling my mind. "Hey Princess." Chen's words echoing through my thoughts. I felt numb, as I continued to stare blankly into the corner.
I felt everything building up, ready to overflow at any moment. I ran out of the practice room at the speed of light. As I rounded the corner I collided with someone falling directly on my butt. I looked up slowly, my face contorting in confusion, I wave of shock went through me as my eyes met with hers.
"Y/n! Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" she spoke offering me a hand, which I gladly accepted. "It's okay Anqi, I wasn't looking where I was going." I said genuinely. "Please let me repay you, we can practice together for the, Yes! Ok! Performance tomorrow." She gave me her best gummy smile, which of course I couldn't resist. "Why not?" I shrugged, following her to another practice room.
As we arrived in the practice room there was only one other person in there. "Oh, hey Y/n, Anqi." She spoke softly. "Hey Kiki, you wanna practice with us?" "Of course!" She nodded eagerly, her hair bobbing up and down. 'Cute' I thought.
I walked over to the remote turning on the song, then quickly running into place. We started moving fluidly to the song in perfect sync, while singing along. Once we were satisfied after running through the song a couple times, we all dramatically collapsed to the ground exhausted, heavily panting.
After a few minutes we managed to calm our breathing, Anqi spoke first. "We should practice together more often, that was really good." Kiki and I nodded our heads in agreement, "Good luck, on the performance and the ranking." Kiki bid her goodbye, going off to bed.Anqi stared at me, in deep thought for a while before speaking. "You look so familiar, but I can't figure out where I know you from." I furrowed my brows in confusion at her statement, "I don't recognise your name though." She tilted her head to the side scrunching her face up. I just shrugged my shoulders in response, earning a sigh from her. "Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow Y/n." "Goodnight, see you tomorrow Anqi." I hurriedly exited the practice room, letting out a breath I didn't realise I was holding.
Anqi's pov:
We've completed Yes! Ok! Live performance, we're all here sitting waiting to arrive with the ranking results, and I'm so hungry. Like I need my snacks to function. Anyways, back to the rankings.
He was already announcing the places 20-16, although I could hardly pay attention due to my excruciating hunger. "The trainee that ranks 19th, is someone who can dance, sing and rap, she also has a permanent serious expression, attached to her baby face." He chuckled teasingly, "congratulations to... Y/l/n Y/n from black rose entertainment." That's when it hit me, my Grandma's maiden name, Y/l/n...
