Aaliyah Smith||Liyah

I sat at the bar nursing on my drink.

The loud ass music in the background was giving me a headache.

A'Lana practically dragged me out the house, I was honestly thinking about skipping the whole thing.

The setup was nice tho. Rico rented out this big ass venue just to host the baby shower. It had an open bar, games, fye ass decorations, a dance floor, & a food table.

"Liyah if you're just gonna sit around & look pitiful you should've stayed at home," Lana said rolling her eyes.

"Girl you're not my babysitter, if you wanna go have fun then go,"

"I don't wanna just leave you here at the bar-"

"A'Lana go," she shrugged her shoulders before throwing her drink to the back of her throat & leaving the glass on the counter.

I watched her walk away before turning back to my glass. I was honestly bored & ready to go home. I still had to study for next week's test.

"You look like you don't wanna be here," a male's voice spoke.

I looked up to see a tall dark skin man standing behind me. He flashed his pearly whites at me & took a seat beside me at the bar.

"What makes you say that?"

"I've been watching you from across the room, you just really caught my attention," his eyes roamed all over my body then back up at my face.

"I uh" I couldn't help but crack a smile, he was actually kinda cute. "I'm just taking my time, not that it's any of your business," I said making him laugh a bit.

"Maybe it's not, I'm Lorenzo," he smiled extending his hand.

"Aaliyah," I said shaking his hand.

"You must be one of Jonnae's relatives, my brother never introduced me to you before,"

"Yeah, something like that," he chuckled.

We sat at the bar together for about 40 minutes having a full on conversation. Until someone caught my eye.

"You good?" Lorenzo chuckled "You just stop talking mid- sentence,"

"I'm sorry, I'm fine," I said taking another sip from my drink.

"You know him or something," Lorenzo questioned looking over in Jordan's direction.

"An old friend of mine,"

"Boyfriend?" he asked being nosy.

I coughed uncontrollably almost chocking on my drink. "No, nun of that. Just a friend," I corrected him.

We made eye contact again & this time he gestured for me to come over to him.

"I'll be right back okay?" I told Lorenzo.

"Take your time," he said eyeing me.

Jordan went out the front door & I followed close behind. We walked to the parking-lot over by his car.

It was silent at first, until he finally decided to say something.

"I called ya phone last night, you didn't answer," he said sounding a little mad.
