Babe, there's something broken about this

Angelo and I moved our conversation to the living room, and chatted while we enjoyed a random novella on the seventy inch television that was beautifully hidden in the wall of the living room. I sat completely engrossed as he continued to tell me all about himself and Alfa, and how they came to live together.

Angelo had told me that Alfa wasn't even his real name, but instead a title that meant he was the leader. I had asked Angelo Alfa's real name, but he insisted he wasn't allowed to tell me, and that I had to wait until Alfa himself told me. I wasn't all that mad about it, as it would give me another reason to talk to Alfa.

"We don't know how old Alfa is, we think he's thirty three but, potrebbe avere qualsiasi età," Angelo finished. (He could be any age). He was currently explaining to me Alfa's age, as I had wanted to know if he was truly a DILF. It was extremely weird that although Angelo and most of the employees that were here worked for years, they'd never thought to ask how old Alfa was, or even when his birthday was.

How could they not even know his birthday?

As I questioned Angelo more about it he began to explain. "Alfa, is not always around, I only see him 3 times a week." Angelo began. "He is very reserved as you can see, and scary as hell. I try my best not to ask anything that will piss him off, he doesn't like too many unimportant questions about himself." He finished as if he was reliving a memory.

"So let me get this straight," I began. "You've been working for Alfa for over 15 years, maybe more, and you never tried to throw him a birthday party?" I finished. "I thought you were supposed to be 'migliori amici' Angelo" I rolled my eyes. What kind of best friend was too scared to ask their friend when their birthday was.

Angelo just rolled his eyes and told me to ask Alfa that himself.

I had also learned that the estate had over one hundred people living and working on it. However, on the week that I had come, everyone was out on a trip that lasted until the end of the month. Save for Angelo, Alfa, Zay, the abusive guard, his girlfriend, a few other guards, and I, the estate was pretty much empty. He also explained the dynamics of the villaggio. Alfa was the sole owner, however, he let other people work in the village and build their own homes.

Angelo also explained that the village had many acres and behind the forest that surrounded Alfa's home was a town that had clothing shops run by the locals, famers markets, gas stations, a school, and even a movie theater. It was like a whole town and Alfa was the mayor, of some sort. So my previous theory of Alfa being rich was correct. Hell yea!

"So how'd you and Alfa meet, and do you have any family?" I asked Angelo. I was curious to know how someone as closed off and reserved as Alfa would befriend someone as rambunctious and annoying as Angelo.

"Well when I was about ten, I used to be, un demone termale, as my mother loved to put it," Angelo began. (Devils spawn). "One day I was so angry at her for something and I trashed the whole home. My mother was so afraid she called the local Prete-" He paused as he saw my confused expression. "Prete is what you call the father of the church, um I believe it is the Priest?" He explained, and continued as he saw my nod of understanding.

"Well, after my mother called the Prete, I did not remember much. But when I woke up I was away from my home with a strange man," Angelo went on. "I was so afraid, and I felt so betrayed by my mother. She had let this man take me," Angelo trailed off as if remembering the pain he felt then.

I felt for him and wanted to give him a hug. I couldn't imagine being that young and being taken from your home. Angelo had also previously explained that his mother raised him on her own as his father was nowhere to be found, and his mother didn't talk about him at all. I could imagine the stress that Angelos mother had and I understood her asking the Priest for help.

"Well, I stayed at that place the Priest had brung me for three years and there I met Alfa." Angelo explained. "The man I met the first day was Galen, he wasn't Alfa's father but he was something like that, to all of us." Angelo finished.

"Galen was a guaritore, a healer, and he helped me to heal the rage I had within." Angelo continued. "When I met Alfa he was the same as he is now, but for some reason he liked me." He said proudly. "Alfa began to teach me everything I know, not just English," "Well when the three years were up I was able to go home, but I decided that I wanted to go back to Alfa, and I've been here ever since." He finished.

I took a minute to process all the information that Angelo had given me. I couldn't believe what Angelo and Alfa had been through together. It was starting to make sense why Angelo was so adamant on being Alfa's bestie, and why Alfa kept Angelos annoying ass around. However, I was still extremely confused and suspicious as to how no one knew Alfa's age, or really anything about him. This should have been a red flag for me, but instead it felt more like a challenge to get to know Alfa more than anyone here ever has.

"I am so sorry you had to go through that Angelo," I began. "I know your mother only wanted what was best for you. She should be proud of how well you've turned out so far." I finished. "But I can't help but question what you meant when you said Alfa was the same when you met him all those years ago?" I asked.

"Yes Alfa was the same physically and emotionally. He looked almost exactly like he does now, he did not age. The only thing that is different is that he has gotten much taller." He finished.

So Alfa was a vampire?

That was the only thing that could possibly explain him not aging a day in nearly twenty years. This place was just getting more and more weird, but it was free housing and meals so I was reluctant to comment about it.

"Wow," I started. "That is a lot to take in, so is Alfa a vampire?" I asked.

Angelos eyes grew wide at my comment, as if it were true. Hell no, I was just joking. There were no such thing as vampires and Alfa was definitely not one.
"Angelo I was just kidding..." I trailed off. As much as I wanted to ignore red flags, if Alfa was a vampire, that, I would not be able to ignore.

"Fanculo! Potrebbe sapere più di quanto pensassi."(Fuck! She might know more than I thought.) Angelo started. "No Amy, Alfa is not a vampire why would you think that?" He finished.

I chose to ignore him saying that I knew more than he thought. As they say ignorance is a bliss, and answered his question instead.

"Well I mean how else would you explain Alfa looking the same as he did when you were thirteen years old?" I retorted. It was good that Angelo was willing to tell me as much as he knew about Alfa.

"You will just have to ask him that yourself, bradipo." He answered. Welp, mission failed.

"Ugh, you're so annoying Angie, why can't you just tell me? I don't even know when i'll be seeing Alfa again." I whined. It was now nearly one am, and I still hadn't seen Alfa. Who knew if he would be home any time soon, so it was best if I just asked Angelo the questions in the mean time.

"Oh, Alfa should be home in about 20 minutes," Angelo replied nonchalantly.

"WHAT?" I exclaimed. I didn't even have a chance to properly fix myself up, or even make Alfa his own meal to thank him for letting me stay. Angelo was definitely going to get a snack for not letting me know sooner.

"Why didn't you tell me that Angelo! I look terrible, and I didn't even get a chance to make something especially for him. What does he like? Does he eat fish? Is he allergic to anything?" I fired at Angelo.

As quickly as I could I ran to the kitchen and began searching the pantry until I found pasta. I was hoping to make a quick vodka pasta with the remaining salmon that Angelo and I hadn't eaten. I prayed that Alfa would like it.

"Caspita Amy, sorry I did not know you would want to cook for him. No he does not have allergies...I think." Angelo started. "He does love fish though, and if you cook for him it must be large. As Alfa does eat a lot." He finished.

Just fucking great.
