Threw away your love letters, thought it'd make me feel better

After Angelo had up and left me to fend for myself in Alfa's presence, I had began to feed Zay as he sat in my lap. I couldn't help but to do a little happy dance that this was actually happening. I hated to admit it, but it hurt that Zay didn't like me, as all kids that I'd met always loved me.

Alfa sat next to me at the island quietly eating his food will staring at Zay and I. "This is good." He quietly spoke to me before turning back to his food. I couldn't help the giant smile that was plastered on my face from his praise. Although he'd said few words, hearing the praise from his plump pink lips sent my heart into a frenzy.

"Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it," I responded shyly.

Since he was somewhat talking to me I debated asking him the questions about himself that Angelo refused to answer. I would die from embarrassment if he told me that it wasn't my business, or didn't want to answer. Though I doubted he would say that, I was still quite apprehensive. I was pulled from my thoughts when Zay scratched my hand. I guess in my train of thought I had stopped feeding him.

"No Zay." Alfa said with his thick accent. I could hear the scolding tone in his voice. Zay began to pout while looking at Alfa and then to my surprise gave a slight kiss on my hand. I stared in disbelief of what had just happened. I couldn't even possibly began to fathom the thought that Zay, the little monster that nearly killed me a few hours before, had just been kind to me. It was honestly so sweet and I couldn't imagine how Alfa was able to teach him manners.

"Wow. Thank you Zay, that was so sweet," I cooed to Zay while pinching his cheeks. I continued to feed Zay the last bites of his food before handing him a juice box Alfa had taken out of the fridge for him. Once Zay finished his juice box he let out a loud yawn.

"Okay I think it's time for bed now Zay," I said to him while getting up. It was then that I realized I didn't know where his room was, or if he slept with Alfa. "Oh, I forgot to ask where do I put him to bed Alfa?" I asked Alfa. He looked up from his finished plate and stood from his seat.

I followed Alfa as he began leading me to a bedroom that was at the far end of the hallway where my room was. It was sort of weird that they would put Zays room at the end of the hallway since he was a baby, how would they know if he was in trouble? From my couple of hours of knowing Zay, they'd probably put him down there for their own safety. Zay did seem like the type of baby to kill you in your sleep.

I shook away the thought of the little one year old holding a knife over Angelos head as Alfa opened the room door. The room was plain and resembled that of a little kids, with toys spewed across the floor and a simple twin sized bed in the corner. As I walked further into the room I couldn't help but notice a pile of sticks next to the bed. This little boy was something else entirely.

I gently placed a sleeping Zay on the bed and tucked him in before turning towards the door. Alfa stood next to the door frame watching me as I walked out of the room before turning off the light and shutting the door. We locked eyes for a second before I spoke, "Well... back to the kitchen I guess." He nodded his head before walking ahead of me. I followed behind him like a baby duck would follow their mother. I had a big smile on my face as this would finally be a time when Alfa and I were truly alone.

All I could think about was if his manly parts were as big as him, and about what questions I would ask him, of course.

Walking back into the kitchen, Alfa grabbed his finished plate before making his way to the stove. Damn, it was that good? The dance I did when I realized he was going for a second plate was truly embarrassing, I was glad he couldn't see me. He closed the lid on the pot before turning around and sitting in his seat. He gave me a quick glance before he turned back to his plate and began eating.
