Here goes Chapter 2, Told you they'd get longer!!

________________________________________

I shut the bathroom door hard. Letting the whole party acknowledge I was there. I turned the lock with trembling hands, soaked in beer. I slid to the floor, my back to the door, head between knees, sobbing and shaking, wet and cold. I losely felt around for the all too familiar bandages.

"I GIVE- UP" I screeched, my voice cracking all over the place. I couldn't handle it any longer. I tore it off my wrist and scratched and picked at my scabs till blood gushed out.

I cried and hyperventilated harder knowing how I was letting "them" affect me.  I watched the blood drip onto the clean carpet under my crumpled body. I closed my eyes and aimed my head upwards, letting the tears stream down my wrangled face. This was it.

I heard a knock on the door "Hey! You okay in there?!" I heard HIM say.

I heard him inhale and ask again "Are you okay!?" I stopped sobbing to get air. He didnt care. "why do you care all of a sudden?" I asked. "... Penelope, open the door please." I shook my head in the silence, even though I knew he couldnt see it. I banged my head on the door.

He knocked harder at the door "Penny open the fucking door!!! OPEN!" I dried my tears, bandaged my wrist again, and made up my mind.

I stood up hastily, dizzy, and opened the bathroom window. I slipped out clumsily, my arm numb and in pain.

I closed the window back up, but before I turned and ran towards the familiar forest behind his house, I saw the white doors of the bathroom break down. I saw him- sweat across his forehead, eyes filled with anger, hair a mess. He walked towards me, and that's when I fled .

I sped off into the dark shrubby forest, I heard everything from scattering animals, to the "Crash" of a something nearby. Near the forest, was the highway. I didn't know exactly WHAT I was about to do, but I knew what I wanted to happen.

I finally saw light cracking through the leaves of trees nearby, and stopped to take a breath. I looked back at the party.. I could only see a couple of tiny twinkling lights. I kept on walking, reaching the cement of the highway.

I sat down, preparing myself for this. I started hyperventilating again, hoping for a car to pass by.

"Penelope!!!! Stop!" I turned around to see Kristen a few steps away from me. "Why!? Why should I?!" Kristen's tears were coming full on now, as well as my own. She opened her arms, hoping to hug me, and took a step forward. I stepped back.. Closer to the road.

She was with them all these years... She could've said something, anything to Lindsey. Leaving me in the dust was one thing, letting them do those things to me was another.

"Pen, I need you to think about this, is this what you really want? Your family-"

I interrupted "stop." I looked to the road and saw headlights. I turned to face her with a frown on my face. "Goodbye Kristen.."

I ran into the road and stood in front of the headlights, waiting. I heard the honk of a distant horn as the full force of a car smashed into every part of me. My life flashed before my eyes before it went black and I was sucked into a peaceful abyss.

*flashback over*

I sighed and took a look around the hospital room I'd been staying in. At this point, my hair was a nest on my head and my little hospital robe was wrinkled and annoying me.

No visitors yet.

No surprise there. My mom was probably getting wasted. I was an only child, and my dad died when I was 16. At 18, I was stuck in a hospital bed for attempt of suicide.

Right now I just wanted to speak to the seemingly 6? year old who lay asleep next to me in her own bed, and ask her why she was here.

Dr. Monroe informed me that the car that crashed into me belonged to a senior in my high school- Crenshaw High. That the other driver was fine. The car "crash" only caused damage to my ribs, which was apparently a miracle. Then he promptly left, saying he was needed in another surgery.

I saw the door creak open as a million thoughts ran through my head and a bush of curly hair, and deep green eyes popped in.

Harry.

"Hey P" he said cautiously in a rough voice, not his own. I had been completely mute since the day I had woken up. Not a word.

I grimaced. He walked towards my bed and looked at me as a tear slid down his face. I had the urge to tell him I was okay, but bit my tongue. He spoke again "I know you must be very.. Overwhelmed"

Ha! I thought, No shit.

With that he sat down on a chair nearby and really looked at me for the first time in 4 years. I swallowed the lump in my throat and tears trolled their way down to my neck.

"Why? Penny why?"

I didn't care about it, I really didn't. I closed my eyes and let the tears flow. I then sat up, and yanked all the cables off me.

The monitors went crazy, I reached over and grabbed a pen and paper from the desk beside me. I wrote hastily "don't fucking act like you care now! You had 4 years you piece of shit" I threw the note pad at him, before the doctors came in, and Harry stood back with a disappointed look all over his face. He stepped aside and let the doctors set the equipment back up. Good.
