Dean got as far as unlocking the door when Sam's voice drifted towards him. "Where do you think you're going?"
Dean froze. He thought of a bunch different lies, but sighed and went with the truth. "Lucas." he responded.
Sam groaned. "Fine, but if you're going," he stood up. "Then I'm going too."
Dean rolled his eyes. "No way. I'm not letting you come." Sam put his coat on. "Well I am, dude."
Dean gave in. "Fine. Let's go."
Sam and Dean got into the Impala and drove off to find Lucas. They drove through the night, Dean never stopping.
They arrived early the next morning and the first place Dean wanted to visit was Lucas' house. "Wait," Sam said. "It's really early, shouldn't we wait?"
Dean didn't respond, but just made his way to his true love's house.
Dean pounded on the door. Again. And again. And again. "What the-" Lucas' mom answered the door in her pajamas.
"Ms. Lucas' mom," Dean started. He totally forgot her name. "I'm here for Lucas." Lucas' mom raised an eyebrow.
"You do know that it's-" Dean cut her off. He grabbed her hands. "I have something important to tell you."
She fell silent and listened. Dean took a deep breath. "I had a dream. Lucas is in danger. I know it. We need to help him."
"Look Dean," Ms. Lucas' mom started. "I appreciate your help, but why are you here so early?"
"Because! Lucas is- he's-" Dean struggled for words. "I love him. I-I feel things for him that I-I usually don't feel and..." he trailed off.
Lucas' mom's eyes widened. "Y-you don't mean... you're... in l-love with Lucas?"
Dean sighed, clearly frustrated. "Y-yes. That's what I'm trying to say. I love Lucas, okay? In a... different way."
Lucas' mom was so confused. She stood there gathering her thoughts. "Holy- holy shit." was all she managed to say.
"I know this may come as a shock to you, but I've been sure of it for so long I-" Dean was cut off again.
Lucas' mom slammed the door. "Stay away from us!" she shouted. "You're lying! You don't feel anything for my little boy! He's going to grow up normal and marry a nice woman his age!"
Dean scoffed. "Really, ma'am? He's going to grow up 'normal'? He's not normal. Never will be. He survived a freaking lake monster. That's not exactly a normal life."
Silence. Then, "Stay the hell away from us, Dean Winchester!"
Then she left. Dean and Sam were left standing on the porch in utter silence. Dean was very upset. He felt an empty hole in his heart. A very Lucas shaped hole.
They slowly trudged their way back to the Impala. Once inside, Sam said "Ah, forget about him, Dean."
That was all it took.
Dean broke down. He started sobbing into his hands. Why? Why did this have to happen to him? It's not fair!
"I can't forget about him, Sam! I want him! I want to kiss his tiny, plump lips and stroke his hair and- and..." Dean sobbed.
Sam was at a loss for words. He had no clue what to say. I mean, he's never heard of a story about a full grown man falling in love with a kid... so what can he say? Especially because it's his brother.
Sam patted Dean's shoulder in a brotherly way. "It'll be alright." he whispered. Sam sat in the driver's seat since his brother was crying too hard to drive.
"Go to a motel nearby. I'm not giving up on him." Dean said with a newfound confidence. "My soulmate." At that last sentence, Dean's eyes became dreamy and unfocused.
Sam cleared his throat awkwardly and Dean went back to normal. Dean blushed. He blushed.
Sam laughed. Dean glared at him. "Shut your cakehole." he hissed. Sam laughed again. "Hey, I'm not shotgun." he responded.
