Warm water softly trickled over my back as I stood underneath the showerhead back at HQ.
I allowed the tiny droplets to soothe the ache that still clawed at my limbs , holding myself up against the wall in front of me. Hands both placed on the white tiles of the shared bathroom.
My tears mixed with the clean water as I took a white bar of soap and slowly dragged it across my destroyed body. The action both irritating and soothing my skin.
Pull yourself together.
I was too afraid to even close my eyes while washing my face so I simply looked over the burns and bruises that failed to properly heal even after a solid 2 months. Red patched now turning into a purple, blueish colour.
The instant I actually did try closing my tired eyes…the same scene would play over and over again inside my head.
Driving me absolutely insane with feelings of guilt and fury.
The only logical thing I could do was stand in the shower , which was good to conceal the faint sobs as the loud downpour muffled it more than enough.
I wanted to remain strong.
Hold up that same façade I had since childhood.
Be confident.
Be brave.
But even the strongest person in the whole universe can have a certain breaking point.
I lowered my head and clenched my hands into fists, trying to pull myself together before hearing some strange movement behind me.Another unexpected pair of hands suddenly connected with my skin and the tingling of their cold fingertips sent a slight shiver across my spine.
"Levi..."
After hearing his ragged breathing, I eased under his touch while his fingers traveled through my messy hair, ridding it from the multiple knots that time had given it.
“Are you doing okay, brat?” He whispered in my ear, shutting down the negative thoughts spinning around in my head.
I leaned backwards a little, pressing our bare bodies together with his hands now rested on my hips. He didn’t make any moves for it to go any further however. He knew that I felt still too emotionally unavailable for things to escalate. That and we were on a time-schedule.
The Captain left a trail of soft kisses from my right shoulder and stopping at the crook of my neck as he took in a deep breath.
“I’m not really in a party-mood to be honest…” I stated and watched thick clouds of warm steam blur out my vision.Levi let the tip of his nose travel small circles against my shoulder, sending a tingling sensation throughout my body. I savored his affection but snapped back to reality when he scoffed.
“It’s a coronation. Not a party, stupid.”
With a glare, I turned my head to get a glimpse of his unimpressed face, trying my best to ignore his rock-hard abs squeezing against my spine.
“Will there be a lot of people?” I asked, facing forward again and wiping the remaining soap-residue of my skin.
“Yes?”
I nodded, turned off the shower and draped a big white towel around myself.
Levi was still confused about my question as he followed my lead and wrapped a towel around his own waist, combing his hair backwards with his fingers and exposing his sharp bone-structure. His damp skin and carved out muscles only adding to his hotness more.
Giving myself a mental slap in the face I shook my head before continuing my questioning-spree.
“Will there be food and drinks for everyone?”
