The Change

When Kate woke up she was laying down in her bed. Her vision was blurry but only for a moment. She looked up and saw the worried face of Luke. He was rubbing her hair and asking if she was OK. "Kate!? Kate!? Can you hear me Hun? Can you hear me?" She moaned and tried getting up but Luke made her lay back down. "I'm fine Luke. I just-" she stopped in mid sentence and gasped. "The website!" Luke looked at her like she hit her head to hard. "What website?" "On my computer. I've kept tabs on this Missing Child's website and I got a nofication saying their still looking for this Katelyin Marie girl. When I clicked on the photo it was of," she couldn't bring herself to say it. "Of what babe? Who was it of?" She knew she had to tell him. "It was of me." "What?! That's impossible. Missing Child's website look for missing children. Your not missing." Kate looked at Luke and shrugged. That's all she could do. "Maybe we should ask my Dad about it," Kate said. "He'll know what to do." "Wait." Kate looked at Luke like he was crazy. She said, "Wait what?! You don't think actually think my Dad kidnapped me when I was one do you?!" Luke shrugged. "I don't know Babe. I mean just think about it. And look at that picture again. That looks a lot like you. Same eyes. Same blonde hair. Even the same nose. Maybe we should wait to tell him. At least until we find out what's going on." Kate thought for a moment. "Maybe your right. After all, I don't really look like him. Luke what if I did get kidnapped? What am I going to do? I can't stay in this house with him. I have know idea who he is. Or why I'm here!" Kate was freaking out. She didn't want to feel like she had no parents. She didn't want to stay in this house with a man who was crazy. "Look, you can stay with me. Just tell him your staying at Jessie's for a while. Don't worry. I'll take care of you. Everything is gonna be OK."
