Chapter 8

~~~Avery's P.O.V.~~~

Jake and I just got back from taking in the forest and now I'm laying on my bed thinking about what he said. He's leaving.

For the first time in many many years I let the tears fall down my face. I don't know why this bothers me so much! I barely know him for god's sake! Why does this hurt so bad.

My phone starts to ring so I reach over and see its Jason. "Hey Jason"

"Hey bæ why weren't you at school today?"

"Uh I'm not feeling very well I think I'm going to take the rest of the week off" I say.

"It's the first week and you're already sick?!" He says with a laugh "want me to come over? I can be the sexy nurse to your sexy sick patient"

I laugh "yes! Will you put on a slutty nurse costume and everything? Maybe do a little stripping, Jason? It would make me feel better" I say smiling.

"Totally I will get up on the table for you and everything!" I laugh

"Well as tempting as that sounds im going to have to pass, I don't feel well enough for you to come over. Sorry babe." I say and see Jake climb in through my window. "Hey Jason I gotta go I'll talk to you later bye!"

"Bye sexy"

I look at Jake as he comes in "whose Jason?" He asks

I shrug "my friend why?"

A scowl appears on his face "I don't like him." My brows scrunch together in confusion.

"Why not? Do you know him?"

"No but I don't like him anyway." With that he walked to the window and climbed out.

~~~Jake's P.O.V.~~~

I climbed out of the window pissed off. I have no reason to be pissed! She can flirt with whoever she wants! We aren't together! That fucking Jason can have her it doesn't matter to me.

I walk downstairs from my room and see my brothers. "Hey Jake, who is that girl you've been hanging out with?" My older brother Luke asks me.

"Just a girl, why?" I ask like as I continue looking for food.

"A girl huh? Does little Jake have a girlyfriend?" Austin asks.

I have four brothers, Luke is 22 which is why he is our legal guardian. Then it's Austin who is 19 then it's me then Dylan who is also 18. Our youngest brother is Toby he's 16.

They are all pains in my ass. But they won't betray me like others in my family have. I will forever have trust issues because of my father.

"No I don't have a girlyfriend. We will be leaving soon anyway, no reason to get attached" I said cooly.

"You really like her don't you?" Luke asks me sincerely.

"It doesn't matter" I say then head back up to my room.
