24. What Hasn't Killed Us Made Us Stronger

A/N: This is it y'all.

*Two months later*

"You know, I wanna say thank you. It's funny. You told me not to date anyone, especially not a boy. But look at what has happened. That boy you kidnapped for being close to me? I love him. I truly do."

Taehyun sat on the bench across from the gravestone and looked down at his hands.

"I hate you. I hate you more than I hate myself, and I never thought that could happen. You hit my mom, and I'll never forgive you for that. But anyway, she's up in the clouds now. And I know you're burning in Hell for everything you've done. Thank you father. I can't call you dad lately. I've realized I never had a dad. And if I did, it definitely wasn't you. This is goodbye for good."

He stood up and walked over to place his hand over the engraved words on it.

"I'm forgetting you now. You were my past. The demon inside of me. But now I'm in a new chapter of my story. One that doesn't include you and my mom. As much as I love her, she wants me to move on. So I am for good. And if you thought of apologizing to me, you can't ever earn love from me. You hurt Beomgyu. You're automatically blacklisted from my heart."

He bit his lip and then stuffed his hands in his pockets as he walked away from the cemetery.

It was time for him to finally let go.

"What hasn't killed us made us stronger," Kai said, resting his arms on the fence, looking out at Seoul.

Yeonjun nodded and stood next to him, looking out as they waited for the others.

"It's just like it was the night we saved the world," Yeonjun realized. "It was us first."

Kai smiled and looked to the side to see two cars pulling up on the dirt road.

Taegyu got out of one while Soobin got out of the other one.

"You know we could've chosen something better. Like inside? It's cold out here," Soobin complained as it was still February.

"Relax. We just wanted to know what everyone was gonna be doing," Taehyun chuckled. "And it would be better to do it in person."

"Well Soobin and I have nothing to do. We kind of just... exist," Yeonjun laughed.

"And so do I. I'm just bored a lot, so I'll probably travel sometimes," Kai said.

"Well Tae and I thought we should mention that we're gonna be in Daegu for the next few months."

"What?" They all looked at Beomgyu in sadness and he quickly shut down their negative emotions.

"No no no. We'll be back. We're just visiting my parents and my brother. I haven't seen them in a while."

They all nodded, slightly sad. But they knew he had to see his family.

"We should get going," Taehyun said, going back to the car and opening the door. "We have to get up early tomorrow to catch the train."

They forced Taehyun to hug all of them, and then Beomgyu, before they got in the car and drove off.

"So long Taegyu," Soobin sighed.

"You're gonna miss them, aren't you?" Yeonjun asked, giggling when Soobin glared at him. "Anyway, I'll race you back home."

"Oh, you're on. See you later Hyuka!" Soobin yelled to Kai who waved them goodbye.

He then leaned his arms on the fence again and looked forward.

"I guess fifth wheeling isn't the worst thing, huh MOA?" He asked, smirking and giggling to himself before getting in his car and drving home himself.

A/N: That is not a cliffhanger. It's just a breaking of the fourth wall lol.

So in reality... Kai was the main character and the narrarator all along.
