Shays POV
"You look fine Aria!" I say. I can tell she's nervous. I mean, I would be too if I was about to meet my family For the first time!
"Sorry I just don't want to look like a slob!"
"Ha! Your funny and not a slob! Be out in 5 minutes they'll be here soon!" I say walking out of the bathroom. The past 2 weeks me and Aria has gotten a lot closer. I learned shes loud but funny when she's in a good mood but her moods change quickly. I'm not even sure what triggers it sometimes. She could be laughing one minute then the next staring of at nothing with a blank face. Right this second the police are on the lookout for her father. He just disappeared. Aria had talked to the police and social services before we left the hospital. She gave them as much detail as possible to what he looks like and I'm very proud of her for being so open with all what happened. Speaking of social services, Colette and the kids should be here any minute now to meet Aria. Colette and I will talk and if all goes well all we do is sign some papers and she's apart of the family! I'm not sure what Colette told the kids but I'm sure they'll like eachother! I hope.
"Ok. I'm ready." I hear Aria say.
*ding*
"Hold on 1 second!" I say pulling out my phone.
"That's Colette!"
"What did she say? oh I'm sorry that was nossy! I'm so sor-"
"It's ok! That's fine she just wanted to warn us only she is coming up now. The kids are swimming with our babysitter Cecily. They'll be up later."
"Oh. Ok. Wait? She's coming up right now?" She says nervously biting on her nails. I walk over to her and give her a big hug.
"I promise she's a nice person ok? You'll like her." I reassure her.

Colettes POV
"Alright kids be good for Cecily!" I wave to my children. They'll be swimming while I go meet Aria. I'm so exited but a bit nervous. Shay told me a lot of stuff about her. This is crazy! We might adopt a child! I make my way into the elevator still overthinking this whole plan.
"So..." I start mumbling to myself
"I go meet Aria. My soon to maybe be daughter. We talk. My kids come back from swimming. We talk. Just talk and breathe." I take a deep breath while the elevator door opens. I walk down the hallway working up the courage to go in. Don't think just do.

Arias POV.
Me and shay are sitting in the living room waiting. I think I'm shaking. This is a big deal for me. I'm going to meet my soon to be mother. I've never really had a mom before. Ever. Or a dad. Shay has been so helpful to me I can't thank him enough. Just then the door opens and I hear a lady say hello.
"Hi babe!" Shay jumps up and goes to hug her. Awe! She called him babe! He takes her hand and walks her over to me. Wow, she's beautiful!
"Hello! It's so nice to meet you! I'm Colette!" She says.
"Hey! I'm Aria." I awkwardly say while standing up.
"Can I give you a hug? I've heard so much about you! Your a very strong girl."
"Yea, sure." I say. We hug then sit down to talk.

Colette's POV
I feel like we've talked about pretty much everything. It was a bit awkward at first but thanks to Shay me and Aria are more comfy around each other now. Shay was right. I do really like her. She says sorry a lot and she doesn't seem to know how to react around me and Shay together but that's not her fault. She's probably not used to seeing two people who love each other. She said her mom passed away when she was younger. I teared up a few times. She's so funny and bright. I'm a pretty observant person (I am a mother of 5) I can sence when something's wrong. I can tell she really needs someone. I do think I want to adapt her. I feel like me and Shay need to be there for her now. I know we can do It.
"So you have kids right?" Aria asks me
"Yes! 5 of them! It's been an hour, they should be getting out of the pool any time." I say. I see her shift around getting nervous.
"Don't worry ok? It might get a little loud, they haven't seen their dad in a while but their talkative and easy to get along with."
*knock knock*
"Oh speaking of them thats probably them!" Shay says walking over to the door.

Arias POV
"Daddy!" I hear kids yell. They all push through the door and bounce around Shay all at once. I can feel My anxiety starting up. Not a good time! I don't like a lot of stuff happening at once. I see two girls trying to climb up Shay, a little boy who's fake crying at his feet and an older quiet boy keeping his distance observing the scene like I am.
He looks around and notices me and smiles. I awkwardly smile back and look down picking at my fingernails like I aways do when I get nervous.
"Alright everyone quiet down! I want you all to take a seat in the living room. I want you too meet someone." Shay says. Everyone walks into the living room and sits down. Shay sits by me. I hate meeting people. Kids don't seem to like me very much. shay points to each one of the kids and makes them say their names. The older boy talks first.
"Hey, I'm gavin" he says
"I'm Emmi"
"Hi I'm avia"
"I Brock" the little boy says.
Colette walks over to me holding a little baby.
"And this is Daxton" Colette says sitting on the other side of me.
"Hey everyone, my names Aria." I say
"Now kids..." Shay starts "I know we are telling you this is very last minute but Aria doesn't have a home right now. So me and your mother offered for her to live with us."
"So like, adoption?" Gavin asks.
"Yes" Colette says "you guys are going to have a new sister!"

Arias POV
After all the awkwardness passed I feel almost like a new person. This could be a fresh start! Ok stop. I can't get my hopes up. They could turn out differently from my dreams of what seems to be a perfect family.
"So what grade are you in?" Avia asked me pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Oh uh, I'm not in school at the moment."
"Why?"
"It just got too hard."
"Oh. My work isn't that hard."
"That's good! If it ever does ask for help and don't give up ok? Education is a good thing to have. It makes you smart up there!" I say while poking her on her forehead.
"Ah! Hey!"
I see Brock running over to me.
"Do it to me! Do it to me!" He says while poking his own forehead.
"Boop!" I say while poking him
"Hahahahahahahahaha!!" He laughs. I always laugh at his laugh, he's so cute! I can't believe I have 5 siblings. I don't have any favourites but me and Avia seem to just click. It's a bit strange.its like we were meant to be sisters. Whatever tho. That's impossible anyways.
