Chapter 11

Seokjin's mother worked late, as usual. He fell asleep, waiting for her. When she returned and found him asleep on the sofa and picked up a small blanket spreading it over him.

"Seokjin." she gently shook him awake.

"Eomma.." He said as soon as he opened his eyes, "How long have you been here?"

"I just came in." She smiled fondly, running her fingers through his hair. "On our way back, we stopped at Yeon-Soo's house. Jimin told me something."

Seokjin sighed. He knew exactly what Jimin had told his mother.

"Sweetie, I know you are still very young and all this is scary, but if you terminate this pregnancy, you are not giving this baby a choice. When I got pregnant with you, I felt like my all world had ended, but once you were born, I realized keeping you was the best decision I ever made. If you have this baby and you still don't want it, we can put it up for adoption."

Seokjin didn't say anything because he didn't agree with keeping the baby. He just wanted to go back to the time when it didn't exist. He had made up his mind. He was going to have an abortion. Though he knew his mother was going to be angry, eventually she would forgive him.

"You can go back to sleep, sweetie." she kissed his forehead, pulling the blanket up to his neck, "You need as much rest as you can get now. I love you."

"Goodnight, Eomma."

Seokjin didn't want to go to school the next day. Despite his mother's efforts to persuade him to go, he stuck with his decision to stay home.  She didn't want him to lag with his studies, so she reported to the school that he was ill so that his lessons could be sent home with a tutor.

After the tutor left, Seokjin lay down to sleep. He was always tired these days. He just wondered if this thing made him so tired when it wasn't even showing, what more would it do once it was big and showing? He had to give big ups to the people who managed to go through the entire nine months. There was no way he was going to go through all that for a child he had no intention of keeping.

He picked up the phone and scrolled through the options from the previous day. He liked the mustard seed one. It wasn't only a natural option but the seeds were easily obtainable at the local supermarket.

He sat up and put on his sneakers, grabbing his backpack before leaving the room. He opened the front door and was about to step out of the house when he saw Jimin approaching. His mood changed immediately. How could Jimin dare show up at his house after telling on him.

"Hey, Jinnie!" Jimin said hugging him, "Are you feeling better already and where are you off to?"

Seokjin pulled away from the hug said nothing avoiding Jimin's eyes.

"Where are you going? I can come with you if you like." Seokjin still didn't answer. How could Jimin act like what he did was nothing? "What's the matter, Jinnie? Why won't you say anything? Are you mad at me because I told Aunt Min-Ji about you wanting to have an abortion?"

"How could you do that, Jimin?" Seokjin spoke finally, "You knew Eomma would never allow that. I thought we were best friends."

"We are."

"No, Jimin, best friends don't betray each others trust."

"I'm sorry, but I did it because I love you and I don't want you to do something that could hurt you." Jimin's mouth morphed into a pout, "I'm really sorry. I don't like it when we fight. What can I do to make you forgive me?"

"Well," Seokjin mirrored Jimin's facial expression, "I don't like it when we fight either. I'll forgive you if you go with me to the supermarket and get some mustard seeds."

"Is that for the thing you want to do?" Seokjin nodded, "Jinnie, please don't do this. It's risky and I don't want to lose you. Listen," Jimin cupped Seokjin's face between his palms, "Have the baby. We will take it with us to Seoul and raise it together."

Seokjin shook his head, but let Jimin walk him back into the house. If the shorter male wasn't going to help him, he'd wait for him to leave and then buy the seeds. He was going to do it,  with or without Jimin's help.
