Hi my loves 💜💜
***
It had rained an entire night and still rained the next morning. Woobin was coming down with a fever, hence Seokjin couldn't take him to school. He would have loved to stay home and look after him but he had to be in court that morning so he asked Jimin to babysit for him for a few hours.
He did his best to focus on the court session and not do something like acting out and running home in the midst of it all. He hated seeing his little boy in pain. If he could take all the illnesses on his behalf he would.
On his way home he made sure to pass through the pharmacy. Jimin had sent him a list of medications to buy. Having a doctor for a friend really paid sometimes. It wasn't raining anymore but the weather remained gloomy. He trusted Jimin to make sure Woobin was warm.
"Hello," The cashier greeted him with a warm smile, "How may I help you?"
"Hi." Seokjin returned the smile and handed her the slip of paper on which he'd written the drugs, "Can you give me these drugs, please?"
"Sure." The lady inspected the list before she turned around to pick out the medicines. She returned with small labelled boxes and wrote down the dosages. "Here you go."
"Thanks," Seokjin paid for everything before he looked at the new slip of paper as another customer walked in and stood beside him.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The cashier asked once again like an automated response.
"I'd like to buy 100mg opium."
"I'm sorry sir, we only sell opioid products strictly by prescription."
"I have a prescription." The man said as he handed the cashier a small piece of paper.
Seokjin wondered what kind of pain a person would be going through to resort to taking such strong pain medication. He felt sorry for the man and couldn't help but take a quick glance and maybe offer a sympathetic smile.
The moment he looked up his smile faded. What was this man doing there of all places. Actually he could be anywhere he wanted to be, but why did it have to be at the same time that Seokjin was there?
He needed to leave before the man took notice of him, but as he tried to do so, the man suddenly moved in his direction causing their bodies to collide and one bag slipped out of his hands and fail. He quickly bend over to pick it up but the man beat him to it as he grabbed the it first.
"I'm sorry." He said before his eyes landed on Seokjin. A hint of shock flashed over his facial features but only for a brief moment as it was replaced with a small smile.
Seokjin quickly stood up and the man followed, holding the plastic bag out to him.
"It's been a while." Jungkook's smirk was now filled with mockery, "Have you been well?"
Seokjin felt the anger and pain he felt all those years ago return in an instant. The person who ruined his life was standing right there in front of him, in the flesh. Of course he didn't mean Woobin was a mistake, but the whole experience really hurt him. And it still pained him because of the fact that the child was almost an exact copy of Jungkook. Sometimes he'd wished he'd looked like him instead.
Unable to take it anymore, Seokjin grabbed the bag and dashed out. He dared not look back as he got into his car and drove off. He felt tears dampen his face and used his sleeve to wipe them off.
When he got home, the house was blasting with 'A stylish tomato' (song in media) from the television and the sight of Jimin and Woobin dancing, made Seokjin feel better and almost forget about what had just happened earlier.
He wiped the remainder of his tears and walked over to his son and best friend. Woobin's face lit up at the sight of Seokjin.
"Appa!" The child with a face like Jungkook excitedly ran over and on cue Seokjin scooped him into his arms before peppering his face with kisses. His body temperature was still a little high but Woobin was a strong child.
"I missed you so much my little one." Seokjin said placing the child back on the floor, "Were you being nice to uncle Jimin?"
"Uh-huh."
"That's my good boy." Seokjin ran his hand through Woobin's hair. He looked up at Jimin who just gave him a knowing look. Typical Jimin, always reading Seokjin like an open book.
"Binnie, baby," The shorter make began to say, "Why don't you practice a little more so that we can compete later? I want to have a word with appa."
Woobin shrugged his shoulders before he gave a response, "Okay."
The child skipped back to the centre of the room without a care in the world before Jimin grabbed Seokjin's hand and led him to the kitchen. It was fascinating how those short legs could move so fast and Seokjin was struggling to catch up, even though Jimin was pregnant.
When they made it into the kitchen, Jimin grabbed Seokjin's face before inspecting it.
"You've been crying. What happened?"
"I saw him, Jimin. Why did it have to be today of all times?"
"What are you talking about? Who did you see?"
"Jungkook showed up at the same chemist shop I was buying Woobin's medicine."
Jimin frowned, "Are you serious? Didn't he leave to stay abroad many years ago?"
"That's what I thought, but it was really him I saw. He even spoke to me. He asked if I've been well."
"And what did you say?"
Seokjin shook his head, "I just ran out."
"You did well."
"I can't let Woobin know about him. You know how he asks about his dad sometimes and I've always told him it's always just been the two of us."
"As long as Woobin knows nothing about him, you shouldn't worry. Jungkook denied the child so you have nothing to worry about. So pull yourself together and join us in the living room before he notices something's wrong."
Seokjin nodded his head as he wiped the fresh tears that had fallen down his face once again, "I'll be right there. Let me just was my face and change my clothes."
"Okay." Jimin ran a hand through Seokjin's hair and went back to the living room where the same song played over and over again.
