The Other Maze - A Newt x Reader Fanfiction

Y/n was in the Group B maze. She was the first person in the maze. She was also the person who knew the maze the best, as she had studied two years longer than everyone else. She had been stuck down at the glade, alone for a month with nobody but the animals to talk to. Some days she would've ran the maze. But with the monsters, the grievers in there she didn't want to trust getting killed or touched by one. She only ran the maze twice a week, a Monday morning and a Thursday morning.

Y/n was taken from her parents and her brother, that all she remembers of her life before the maze. She doesn't what her brother's nor parents name was. She didn't know why she was taken. All she knew was she was given the task to escape the maze with her fellow mates. Y/n was only 12 years old when she was put in the maze to survive on her own.

Four years later, she's her friends alive. As the first-in-command she had to look after each and every one of her teammates, which included: Harriet, Rachel, Sonya, Beth, Alexandra, Ximena and Miyoko. "Today's the day we get a new greenbean today." Rachel said. "I can't wait to meet her!" Sonya said, tying her hair back in a braid as they ran out the maze. "Hey! Rachel! Where's Y/n and Beth!? The last I saw she was with you in the maze!?" Sonya shouted, facing Rachel. Harriet, Alexandra, Ximena and Miyoka ran over to the two girls. "Where the hell is Y/n and Beth!? The maze doors are gonna close soon!" Miyoka shouted at the two girls. But, then, a feminine figure was sighted in the maze.

It was Y/n carrying a passed out Beth in her arms. Y/n's waist, arm and her lip were all dripping with blood. The doors started closing, but Y/n started sprinting. She made it out the maze within three seconds. There were of course, other members in Grooup B, like two Medjacks, two builders, a few trackhoes and gardeners etc. Y/n looked at the two medjacks, "Get Beth to the medjack and fix her up you slintheads." Y/n looked at the two medjacks who stood behind, Harriet, Alexandra, Miyoka and Ximena.

Y/n headed off to the map room and mapped out with broken sticks what she had found today in the maze. She rolled her sleeve up to check if she got stung. There was nothing there. She sighed in relief as she put the last sticks in making a door.

The greenie alarm went off. Then it hit Y/n it was the first of the month. She picked her backpack that she had carry through the maze that carried her supplies. Two water bottles, two extra knives, a sandwich with Y/n's favourite filling in and for some reason a rope. I guess if Y/n fell off the edge of the maze, she can cowboy swing herself back up.

She sprinted out the map room and to the box which was coming to a stop as she arrived. She got through the horde of girls and opened the doors, she jumped down into the box to find numerous boxes of supplies. As she shuffled the boxes around she saw the greenbean, except, "It's a boy!" Y/n shrieked in horror. A boy was curled up in the corner infront of her.

The boy jolted up and looked at  Y/n, his breathing was starting to become heavier as if he were having a panic attack. Y/n calmed the greenie down with her warm, welcoming smile.

"Where the hell am I!?" He asked. Y/n smiled slightly. "Your in our home." Y/n smiled. "This is your home?" The greenie looked up and around. "What are you trying to say, you little shank-face!?" Y/n raised her voice. "I'm trying to say it's amazing." He jumped out the box and onto the grass. Y/n calmed down and smiled.

She noticed something off about the greenie as she toured him around the glade. He kept putting his hand on his head and shutting his eyes. "Are you alright greenie?" Y/n stopped walking and faced the greenie. "Yeah.. I'm fine." The greenie lied. "Do you want me to take you to the medjacks?" Y/n asked. "I said I'm fine." The greenie said sternly. She watched his eyes clench shut as he blacked out.

The greenie woke up in medjack, startled as he had no clue where he was. Y/n sat on the floor, her arms wrapped around her knees, asleep. "Um hey." The greenie shook Y/n's shoulders. Y/n woke up, "What the fuck do you want?" She asked. "I'm going outside." He muttered. "Alright." Y/n sighed.

The greenie had been here for three and a half weeks now, he was adjusting to life here. And, oh right, his name Aris. "Hey Y/n!" Aris called as his bestfriend, Y/n ran out from the maze. "Hey Aris I can't right now!" Y/n shouted as she ran passed Aris.

"What happened?" Aris asked Sonya. "Apparently, one of the runners got stung and they found a way out of the maze!" Sonya said. "They found a way out?" Aris questioned. "Yup." Sonya replied. "So we get to go home?.." aris queried. "Hopefully, I dont know." Sonya said. "I have a sister. I want to find her." Aris mumbled. "I have a brother, his name's Newt." Sonya said. "Hm?" Y/n ran over. "What are we talking about?" Y/n asked. "Oh, we were talking about what we remember from before the maze, Sonya has a brother called Newt and I have a sister but I dont know what happened to her or what her name is." Aris summarized. "Well, I have a brother, that's all I know." Y/n muttered. "Tomorrow we leave." Y/n spoke up to her normal volume. "Okay." Aris and Sonya said in sync.
