"Mom, is Ama not back yet?" Pierre asks his mother, who was carrying his father's tea mug in her hand, to the kitchen. Pierre slightly drops his reading glasses to his nose to balance his sight and also wears a white night robe.

His mother stops, turning around to glance at her boy with a worried/sad face. "Son, don't you like Lou?"

Hearing Lou's name, immediately got Pierre angry. He frowns. "Why? Do you feel that Lou is worthy of our little girl?"

A slight creepy smile embraces her face. "The first time your father and I met him, we didn't feel that he was a little unreliable, but later we could tell that he cares for Ama. Their relationship is getting better and better each day that passes..."

"That guy is just a worthless guy!" He gets infuriated by her words. "He doesn't have anything. Dating is one thing, but when it comes to marriage, what does he have to offer? A happy life for Ama?"  He groans.

"I'm done with this conversation!" Madame Jacque turns forward in her direction and leaves him alone to deal with his very own mystery.

He looks up at the wall clock, 11:58 PM. He looks so exhausted as he removes his glasses to clean his eyes he wears them back and ruffles his hair in frustration. "Should I call her?" He thinks.

He nodded picked up his phone and dialed her number. ROOKIE GIRL, he puts it to his ears, but it doesn't even ring for a second, it was the service that was saying that the number is not available and please try later.

Midnight clock on the dot. He could not sleep. He's worried. He walks out to his window balcony and tries her number again, immediately he dials the number, with a loud Vroom that interrupts his thoughts,  a yellow taxi parks over. He furrows his brows angrily. Directly, Lou and Ama step out of the car. He rests his arm angrily at the edge of the wall as he looks deeply annoyed at them.

Lou catches his eyes and then drags Ama to his front. "Ama, come here, corporate with me,"

Ama looked confused but did as she was instructed. Lou immediately holds her face closer to his as he intends to kiss her. This makes Ama uncomfortable as she tries to push him.

"C'mon Ama, trust me with this, stay still, I won't kiss you, we are trying to act right now because Pierre is standing out his balcony, "don't move, Ama, he's watching us don't turn back," he instructed.

"Huh!" She nods.

Lou turns her around so that he can stare very well at Pierre and so that he can see them. He slowly kisses her Chin instead of her lips, grabbing her slim curved waist tightly. He then looks deeply at Pierre. The fire that was arising from Pierre's eyes could set Lou's lashes and hair on fire. Pierre furrows his eyes and brows in anger.

Pierre groans. With a hump, he turns around walking inside.

"Just as I have expected, he is waiting for you. Make sure you keep your acting later." Lou smiles at Ama.

"Okay, I will surely try my best!"

"I'll see you tomorrow then! Bye," he waved at her as he disappeared into the taxi.

"Bye!" Ama waves at him as the taxi drives off.

Ama closes the door slowly. Immediately she turned around, she came in contact with Pierre, who had his arm across his chest, his white robe tightly done, his hair messy, and his moonlike eyes dark and furious. This made Ama swallow hard on her saliva.

She then fakes a smile. "Pierre, it's a pity that you left early. Dinner tonight was amazing..."

He groans. "So you ate until 12:12 ?"

"Yea-yeah, of course not," she giggles. "Well, we went to watch a movie and ate popcorn, we went to the park, and then Lou caught me a bright firefly" She digs her hand into her bag and brings out a pickle jar that was holding the one firefly Captive. "Look, Pierre, ain't it beautiful?"

Pierre looks at her as his anger increases, not saying anything to her.

"Don't look at me in such a manner... I'll let it go after a while- oh oh before I forget, we went to the bar, and I had two bottles to drink, look at me, strong and healthy in my right senses,"

"Ama...!" Pierre calls in between gritted teeth. He then drags her by her wrist angrily.

"What is wrong, Pierre?" She asks as Pierre drags her to the sitting room.

"Sit down, and we need to talk!" He commands.

She sits down obediently.

"Are you going to marry that guy?" He asks.

Ama nods. "Yes!"

"What are you thinking? That guy got nothing to support you in the future," he sniffs.

"Pierre? I think I know what you're worried about... but still, that doesn't change anything. I am a grown-up woman, and I know what I want! Apart from you, Aunty Jacque, and Uncle Desmond, Lou is the only one who treats me dearly these days. Since I can't marry the person I love, is there any better choice than marrying the person who loves me?" She sadly asks.

"But do you love him?" He exhaled.

With heads down. "Pierre, are you playing dumb? Don't you know who I love?"

Pierre flinched in shock. He wishes the ground could open for him to enter. He turns his head to the left in shame.

Ama slowly stands up and walks closer to Pierre. She holds his chin. This made Pierre lose, and he was confused immediately. His eyes opened up in shock, and he became tense as he could feel Ama's warm alcohol breath fanning his face. Ama immediately circles her arm around his neck. He looks uncomfortable—Ama tiptoes since he's way taller than her.

Pierre's eyes became dined with her eyes. He was weak and helpless, his heartbeat accelerated, and he couldn't fight back the urge of what he wanted and what he needed. Ama closes her eyes, and her lips are 1 inch away from his. Slowly, her lips touch him slightly with a brush, and suddenly he realizes what is about to happen then pushes her away from his chest.

Ama groans in anger mixed with embarrassment. Pierre tries to talk to her, but she angrily turns her head to the side. " Ama... Am... I..."

She turns to look at him, looking all tensed up. "Pierre, only a few people in this world are lucky enough to get married because they love each other! And there is no correct answer to the question about love. Maybe I don't love Lou now, but it doesn't mean that I won't love him In the future!" She grasps, trying to hold in her tears of shame of getting rejected by the man who raised her.

She chuckled as tears dropped from her eyes. "Maybe I can forget you after getting married and fall in love with him?"

She walks away, and Pierre follows her in a hurry. "Ama... Ama waits, Am..."

She immediately slams the door to her room hard, leaving Pierre confused and exhausted.

She laid down on her bed glued her face to her pillow and cried away from her shame for being rejected by the only man she loved.

Her phone buzzes on the lamp shelf. She raises her head to see Lou's face dancing on the screen. She fumbles. "Lou..." tears drop from her lashes.

"Ama...Ama, how was it?" He asks.

"Lou, please take good care of yourself. For the time being, I want to stay by myself, don't worry about me!" She sniffs.

"Ama... what's wrong? Ama talks to me; what's wrong?" He sounds worried.

"Lou..." she burst out in tears. "Lou, he...he pushed me away unconsciously..."

"Ama..., maybe he-"

"Don't comfort me anymore... Lou, I've already thrown away myself at him... he will grow hate towards me if I continue like this..."

"Ama...Ama..." he calls.

"Let's let go, Lou... Let all of this end here today, please!"
