Ama's POV
Slamming the note to his desk angrily, he held his hands in a fist.
"Pierre, what is the meaning of this? I have an allergy. What kind of prescription is this?" I angrily asked.
He ignored me by writing on another note. I frowned at his activities.
"Hello... I'm talking to someone here?" I yelled once more to make a point.
He raised his lazy eyes above his glasses. "Who's the doctor here?" He asks calmly
"Stop messing with me, Pierre. I ain't smiling with you," I added, glaring at him.
He rolled his eyes at me once more in a mocking yet cold way. "And who says I have time to mess around with someone?"
The thought of him being jealous touched me loftily. "Wait a minute, Pierre, are you jealous right now?"
He questioned, still writing in his book. "Ama, why don't you think about what I'll get you as a wedding gift. What do you want?" He asks, resting his jaw on his fist.
I felt heartbroken. Does Pierre only see me as a sister? Does he know I've feelings for him why is he acting this way?
"Pierre, can you promise to treat me nicely? Please," The words left my mouth before I noticed what I said, praying silently to God he doesn't give me his awkwardly cool side as a doctor.
He became speechless for some minutes before he managed to speak up but not what I expected.
"How long have you been back here in Paris?, did you enjoy your stay in Nigeria?"
"I arrived yesterday, and I enjoyed my stay there in Nigeria. I visited places, and it was fun because I met with my grandma and auntie. And I'm planning to visit your mom and dad tomorrow." I sadly say.
"So what do you want as your wedding present?" He asked again.
"Anything, get me anything," I said in disappointment and resentment.
" I've to go home now, and I'll make sure to take the drugs you prescribed. Thank you " I nodded at him as I walked out without him saying anything.
I watch as the door slams by his push, not in a harsh way thou. I stayed quiet to think about what to say next time, and I shouldn't have yelled it out just now about promises before it touched my bare skin.
"Your boyfriend is nice..." An unknown old lady in her 60s who was putting on the hospital uniform, a patient, I guess.
She smiled at my fainted face. "Don't let him go," she added. I guess she saw us just now when he walked me to the door.
"He's not my... My boyfriend," I giggled nervously, although I wanted it to be true.
The wrinkles on her face were still lively. She smiled. "The feeling is mutual. He must be someone who likes you a lot, and he was so nice towards you, so gentle and considerate," she smiled again. "The way he looks at you was gentle, and his eyes were all glowing up!" She added a lovely look to her eyes too.
I twitched in shock, raising my embarrassed eyes to look at her. "Are you sure he looked at me like that?"
"He sure did..." She stood up and walked slowly, leaving me dazzled in the middle of the hallway

The Ride to the Fitzgerald MANSION
Even though I should have been thinking about my promised talk with Dr. Pierre Fitzgerald yesterday, the thought of him wouldn't let me be. My brain was snapped back to the rightful moment.
"Pardon?" Louis snaps.
I barked with a laugh, looking at how awkwardly he looked wearing those sunglasses. It was hard to guess what he was thinking.
"Now get in!" I commanded arrogantly.
"I will go nowhere with you today. My love." Louis voiced out, folding his hands on his chest.
I giggle. "Now, that's what I am talking about. I am your love... Lou..." I playfully called his name.
A frown was marked on his thick eyebrows.
"Are we back on the 'Lou' thing again?
I thought that we were going to have a second name basis now?""As I said, you need to fulfill your every wish for me," I answered hesitatingly. Even though his eyes were hidden from my view, his lip-piercing, earring, and upper eyelid piercings were a turn-off for everyone who saw me with him.
But they never know that he's the most excellent real estate agent ever alive. "You only need to call me your love while in the act, okay,"
He smiled wolfishly as if taking my reply as a challenge. "Oh, I will be sure. We'll see about that,"
"Now get in. We'll be late to see the Fitzgeralds!" I said again.
"D'accord mon amour," he smiled as he looked more rugged in those blue jeans and Piercings.
Fitzgerald MANSION
Sitting right in front of the retired owner of Dossy's Memorial Hospital, Dr. Desmond Fitzgerald, was a granted blessing.
He looked a bit old but in good health. His gray eyes and hair were shimmering in grace, and he sat on his old wooden chair in the most prominent living room. The house is like a castle inside a palace, everything brown, white, and gray just as I left it.
I exhale, sitting closer to Lou. "Uncle Desmond, it's been a long time," I looked excited to see him.
He smiled at me."You should have told us earlier, and we could have picked you up then." He twitches his mustache looking excited to see me. "Then, who's this young —rough yet fine man?" He frowns.
Circling my arms around Lou's with a smile. "Uncle, he's Louis Beauvilliers, my boyfriend." I smile. "This time, I brought him to meet you and Aunty —And then, we are getting married!" I hold the smiling Lou's arm tighter for him to smile.
"Getting married...?" Uncle Desmond flinched in shock.
"Hi Uncle, I am Louis Beauvilliers, and I love Ama so much." He smiled genuinely. " We are planning to get married. I will take good care of Ama!"
Wow...wow, Lou Lou, you did a great job on acting. I thought as I looked at the acting Louis by the corner of my eyes with a grin.
Uncle was speechless. I watch as he looks at Lou's hair, blue eyes, ears, lip, eyelid piercing, and torn blue jeans, biker jacket, and ankle leg boot with disapproval. Little did he know that he was a gentleman always in suit and tie but still with his piercings.
"Ama, you've just graduated from the University, it..."
I cut him short with my killer smile. "Uncle, I appreciate you and Aunty for taking good care of me for the few years that have passed. With you, I finished my studies. Now I am a grown woman, and I ought to be independent now."
"Oui once, I might not be rich, but I love Ama from the bottom of my heart! I will love her for the rest of my life!"
The sound of the car outside interrupted Uncle's speechlessness. He looks sadly at me. "Seems like Pierre is back!" He said.
I gulped as I heard his heavy footsteps. I swallowed hard immediately. The door to the living room opened to the full height of Dr. Pierre Fitzgerald.
His frown tightened as he set his angry eyes at me, then Lou. He walks in and sits down on the brown couch facing his father.
"Bonne journée Papa!" He voiced out with his deep voice. Not looking at me
