*May 1995*
Liz's POV:
Me and Reggie are currently sat cuddled up on the couch in mine and Alex's apartment. Reggie is here most of the time, he practically lives here. I'm gonna ask him to move in officially today. I talked to his parents about it last night. They thought it might be a good idea for him live with me for while as their fighting is getting worse each day. It's sad those are the circumstances, but I couldn't be happier that I get to live in my own place with my brother AND my boyfriend.
I don't think I've ever been this lucky. Part of me knows that it won't last though, that something bad is going to happen eventually. It's bound to right? I mean, that's usually how it goes, everything is going great and then BAM! Something comes along to rip your world to shreds. It's inevitable.
I'm snapped from thoughts by Reggie gently grabbing my chin and turning my head to look at him.
"Are you okay babe?" He asks worriedly. I nod my head with a smile, still looking right at him.
"Yeah I'm good. Just got in my head a little bit" I confess. He gives me a quick peck on the lips
"Everything is gonna be fine Liz. You can finally enjoy your life and not have to worry about your parents getting mad at you for not living up to their expectations. You're free to do what you want" he reassures me. He perks up. "I just remembered that I've got a surprise for you" he tells me as he makes his way over to his backpack to get something from it and then grabbing my guitar off its place hung on the wall making me look at him confusedly.
"Oh, I actually have something for you too" I say, going to my room and grabbing the box from my bedside table before heading back to my place on the couch, Reggie sits across from me, guitar in hand. He puts the box on the coffee table before putting both his hands on the guitar, gazing right at me.
"I wrote this song the other day. About you. Kind of. It started off that way and then became its own thing. It kinda says what I'm feeling. It's a duet though, so will you sing it with me?" he asks me nervously, passing me sheet music he pulls out of the back pocket of his jeans. I give him a reassuring nod with a comforting smile as he begins playing.

[Reggie:]
