Chapter 6

~Carter's POV~

It had been about a week since everything happened at the bar, Ali and Alex both moved back in and things seemed like they were going back to normal around here..Until I got a call from Dave, the guy who works at the jail.

"Mahone, what did I tell you about getting into trouble!?"

"What are you talking about? I havn't done anything.."

"You've done nothing wrong?"

"Yep. I've hardly even left my house."

"Really? Well I wouldn't call getting into a fight with some guy at a bar and knocking him out nothing. What were you even doing at the bar in the first place? You aren't old enough to drink."

"I was just there to get my girlfriend, she was drinking and-"

"Save it. You can tell me what happened later. The guy wants to press charges so we're going to have to meet with a lawyer and figure out what to do. Meet me tomorrow at the courthouse at 8AM." After that Dave hung up.

"Who was that?" Ali asked, walking into the living room.

"Dave..He says that I have to meet him tomorrow to talk about that guy I hit.." I'm not even sure if she knows who Dave is, but she didn't ask.

"Shit..is that something you could go back to jail for?"

"Well probably..I wasn't supposed to get in anymore trouble. I shouldn't have even been at a bar, let alone get in a fight at one."

We tried to act as normal as possible for the rest of the day. Ali tried to tell me that everything was going to be fine and I should just not think about it, but honestly, how do you just not think about the fact that you might have to go back to jail?

I ended up going to bed earlier than I normally would because I just wanted to stop thinking about everything.

When the alarm went off at 7:30 I almost shut it off and went back to sleep, luckily I remembered I have to leave soon. I rolled over and kissed Ali on the cheek whispering "morning beautiful" before getting out of bed. I didn't really have time for a shower since I needed to be there in half an hour so I just got dressed and then left.

"Good luck" Ali said, giving me a kiss before I left.

~Ali's POV~

After Carter left, I fell back asleep for another hour. When I got up I couldn't stop thinking about what might happen. I don't know if I can take being away from him again.

I decided a warm, relaxing bath is what I needed. So I grabbed my phone and walked in to the bathroom, I plugged my phone into the speakers and opened Pandora. Then I got in the tub, hoping that this would take my mind off of everything. Unfortunately, it didn't. About ten minutes after I got in, I got a text from someone. Normally I'd just wait until I got out to answer it but right now it could be important.

It turns out that it was just a text from this girl named Kaylee, we used to be friends but I haven't really talked to her much since I met Carter..I haven't really talked to any of my friends since I met Carter.

Kaylee: Hey!! We haven't talked in forever, I miss you.

Me: Hey, whats up? I miss you too.

K: Not much..I'm bored and was wondering if you want to hang out?

I told her yes, and we decided to meet at this small bakery that her aunt owns in an hour. So I quickly got ready and then left. I had only been to this bakery once before but they have amazing no bake cookies.

"Hey Christa" Kaylee said as we walked up to the counter.

"Hi girls," she smiled "What can I get you today?"

"Umm...I want three of the no bakes please." Kaylee told her.

"Same for me"

After we got our cookies we sat down and talked for a while. It was actually really nice, not just because I was hanging out with an old friend, but it also helped take my mind off of everything that was going on with Carter right now.

~Carters POV~

When I got home Ali was gone so Alex and I decided to play video games for a while. I sucked though because I haven't played for a long time, but it was a great distraction from everything that's happening right now. I pretty much found out absolutely nothing today, we just kind of went over everything that happened at the bar and why I was there in the first place. The good thing is that Dave said that its unlikely I'll have to go back to jail but he's still not positive yet. Unfortunately though, if I do go back it will probably be longer than before since this is the second time that something like this has happened.
