After breakfast was over, Andrew called me outside. He offered me his arm and I took it.
"I'm sorry about earlier." I said to him.
"It's fine. I was completely out of line and I should have thanked you. I was just, I don't know." He paused. He thought about continuing. "I guess I was a little frightened."
"I was too," I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"From what I heard and saw, you were actually pretty brave."
"I- I was?" He grinned a bit.
"Uh, yeah. You brought her to the hospital wing, and helped the doctor. That's pretty big."
"I guess it is."
"You saved her." He nodded as he said those words as if it was just sinking into his mind. I looked up at him. I actually physically had to because he was like 6'0" and I was around 5'4" The sun reflected in his eyes and made them look like emeralds. His brown hair looked more golden and he didn't look like a prince, he looked more like a king. A very hot king. I gasped at my own thoughts."Are you alright, Just Callix?" He teased.
"Yes, just my mind. I had a funny thought."
"What was it?"
I choked on my own spit. "Oh, uh, nothing serious. Just a funny girlish thought that I'm pretty sure every other girl my age in the kingdom thinks on a daily basis."
"Oh?"
"Yeah..."
"What was it then?"
"You don't know that pretty much every girl in the country thinks you're hot?"
I covered my mouth a second too late. I could feel heat rushing up to my face. He let out a loud laugh. "You think that I'm hot?"
"Well," My voice went an octave higher.
"Okay good, because I was about to call you beautiful." It was my turn to laugh. He was smiling, actually genuinely smiling. "Your laugh is quite adorable." He said to me.
Andrew turned to me and brushed a lock of hair out of my face. He bent forward and he closed his eyes. I froze. My mind was racing. Do I kiss him back? No. It's not like the storage room, other girls could be looking out the window. I brought my hand back to slap him but his lips were on mine before I could even try. I melted instantly.
Welp, too late. My stupid overthinking brain.
As soon as I walked back in my room a loud scream came out of Amara's mouth. "The prince kissed you?!"
"Yeah. It's not the first time."
"Not the first time?!" The twins asked in unison.
"Well, you see... during the lockdown, when we were in the storage closet... He kissed me," I began to tell the whole story but then Riley let out a very, very loud girlish scream.
Screams... oh the screaming... love me some SCREAMS!!
"We have to get a really good dress for you for the interview. Let's see what we have here..." Her voice faded into the depths of my closet. When I looked, I saw that the sizes were adjusted on the dresses. "Riley! Go get a bath started for her royal highness." I giggled a bit at Amara's enthusiasm.
Riley grabbed my arm and led me into the bathroom where the water was being drawn. "Get in, Princess Callix! What scent would you like?"
"Uh.... just Vanilla, I guess."
"Excellent choice, M'lady." Riley gave a grand, dramatic curtsey.
"Riley! I found the perfect dress. Let Her Majesty bathe herself while you come look at it."
"Aye aye, captain!" And with that, she sped out of the room.
