The wind that blew in the morning greeted Jisung who got off the bus. His soft and silky hair was carried away by the wind, turning places into disarray. But he did not have time to fix it up because he had to immediately enter the glass building that towered high into the sky. His office was on the top floor of the building so he had to need some strength to get there. Actually he wasn't too late, but now it was 7:45 a.m. so he still had fifteen minutes to reach his office.
He had to run from the entrance to the elevator section very carefully so as not to bump into other employees who also wanted to take the elevator.
"Wait!" Jisung shouted trying to stop the elevator door from closing. But the person in the elevator didn't try to wait for Jisung.
In the elevator there were many people and one of them was Mr. Lee's Personal Assistant aka Kim Seungmin. Seungmin looked at Jisung who was trying to get on the elevator and then he smiled at him. Not a smile to greet the younger but rather a smile to mock him.
With a devilish smirk he waved at Jisung who almost got to the elevator, but unfortunately the elevator door closed when Jisung arrived in front of it. Jisung could only curse softly so as not to attract the attention of other employees.
Another devil who works in his office besides Mr. Lee himself is Kim Seungmin. They have almost the same character, they both have cold hearts. If Mr. Lee prefers silence and when he speaks he is full of a dominant aura and harsh sentences. So Seungmin teases him more often, if he is stressed then he will yell at other people even if they don't bother him. He is an example of pain in the ass.
After waiting for a while he finally got an open elevator and began to be filled with employees who didn't want to be late and were scolded by their boss. Jisung did not waste that opportunity, he immediately entered and positioned himself at the rear because he would leave last, considering that his office is on the top floor.
The 'ding' sound from the elevator made him startled and immediately fix up his appearance. He doesn't want to be labeled as a messy kid and doesn't pay attention to 'fashion style'. Mr. Lee will lecture him if he sees wrinkles on Jisung's shirt, if his hair is messy or if the color of the clothes he is wearing doesn't matching at all.
Working in the fashion company with a boss like Mr. Lee sometimes stressed him out mentally and physically. But what else he gonna do, the salary he received was large enough to fulfill his living expenses and his sick mother.
Ah shit.
Jisung cursed for the second time this morning. There, Mr. Lee was walking around the office checking his employees one by one with Seungmin following his tail wherever he went. Jisung tried to be able to sneak into his desk without being caught by Mr. Lee, but unfortunately it seems that luck is not on his side. He bumped into his co-worker who was going to the photocopy room and accidentally dropped a pile of papers brought by his co-worker. The thousands fallen pile of paper managed to attract his boss's attention.
"Han Jisung, are you late again?" Mr. Lee, who knew the scene, approached Jisung and his coworkers. He stood in front of the two of them who were picking up the papers scattered on the floor. Seungmin is behind him with a devilish smirk.
Jisung immediately stood up after helping his coworker and he bowed himself intending to apologize for being late for the umpteenth time.
"I-I'm sorry Mr. Lee, But I-" Jisung couldn't continue his words.
"Actually Jisung is not late, he just wanted to help me when he saw me fall" his co-worker defended him. Lying a little is fine as long as it doesn't hurt the other person.
"Okay! Continue your work! And you Jisung, you shouldn't wear those brown pants" Mr. Lee said while looking him from head to toe. Like someone is checking the contents of his wallet carefully.
"Ah Y-yes, I-I'm sorry" Jisung answered with a face down in shame and fear.
"Stop fucking stuttering! It's annoying you know!?" Mr. Lee massaged his forehead in annoyance. Seungmin who was standing behind him kept grinning. It's like Jisung's suffering is vitamin nutrition for Seungmin.
Jisung could only bow in apology because he couldn't believe his voice if he had to speak. Because he will still stuttered even if Mr. Lee told him not to.
Mr. Lee and Seungmin left the two of them to check on other employees. The two of them let out a breath that they were unconsciously holding.
"Wow... that was so close" his colleague admitted, stroking his chest.
Jisung smiled sadly because he saw his colleague almost getting into trouble as a result of helping him. "I'm sorry Hyunjin, you almost got a problem cause of me" Jisung said, lowering his head while playing with the tip of his sky blue cardigan.
"It's okay Jisung, I just don't want to see you being scolded by that demon" Hyunjin said with a chuckle.
Jisung nodded then he said "How about I treat you something on lunch break?" Jisung paused for a moment, staring at Hyunjin's confused face "Uhhmm... as my thank you" he said with a shy smile.
"Sounds good" Hyunjin smiled approvingly of the younger's invitation. Jisung smiled too because in an office that felt like hell he was still surrounded by good people, like Hyunjin.
"Hey! I told you two to work instead of chatting!" Mr. Lee shouted from the side of the office, in front of the glass door that led to his room. He seemed annoyed by Hyunjin and Jisung who were chatting. The two of them immediately bowed apologetically as they jogged towards their respective desks. Hyunjin, who wanted to go to the photocopy room, ended up at his desk again.
