legs crossed while sipping her wine in one hand, bea turned to look at the outskirts of the city of paris.
she can't help but still be mesmerized of its beauty; even more so as she set her gaze on the eiffel tower just beside the lounge she was currently at.
she sighed as her eyes travelled along the places surrounding it, memories of her 2 years ago seemed to litter around.
she felt her heart unconsciously clench. it's been 2 years.. she thought. why can't i get him off my mind still?
with a deep breath, she settled her back on her chair. gaze tearing away from the view of the city from such a height.
she swirled her wine glass before sipping from it once more.
"excuse me, miss." a waiter called her attention, "Bourdeaux 1997 from the gentleman at the back," the waiter added with a thick french accent.
this made bea's right eyebrow rise, not a lot of people know this was her favorite wine. and she didn't even order this kind of wine tonight.
she bit her lip before thanking the waiter, and then her eyes roamed around the lounge.
her eyes wandered for some time and right before she was about to give up her search of who could possibly have ordered the wine for her.. she suddenly caught sight of someone.
someone familiar.
someone she knew even from afar.
someone she knew she would definitely know in a heartbeat.
she couldn't hide the surprise on her face.
the guy in question just continued to stare at her. hair slicked back, wine also in one hand and leaning over the counter.
bea gulped. how could the guy she was thinking about suddenly appear here?
and in paris of all places?
in the city where their love blossomed 2 years ago?
she bit her lip before tearing her gaze away from his. she gulped down the glasses of wine in front of her before standing up, taking her purse and blazer with her.
she just realized how cold the night was on her skin, her spaghetti strapped silver body-con dress doing nothing to keep her warm.
she made a beeline towards the exit, trying her best not to run into the guy.
but the heavens probably wanted to have them meet again because before she could even walk past the enormous double doors, she felt a big hand hold her by the wrist.
she cursed under her breath before snapping her head towards the culprit who held her back.
she glared at him, "let me go."
the guy just looked at her before firmly replying, "no."
"why?" she sneered.
the guy looked at her softly, "because we need to talk."
she could feel her blood boiling, "what's there to talk about?"
"us." he answered, voice almost as if pleading her.
"there's no us, thirdy." she replied coldly.
"beatri-"
"what are you even doing here? don't you have a wife to go home to? why are you in paris?" she continuously asked.
this made thirdy shut up.
they just looked at each other for few minutes before thirdy broke the silence.
he carefully asked, "haven't you heard?"
"heard what?" she asked impatiently, "i don't concern myself with matters related to you anymore."
he winced at her icy words but replied nonetheless, "i didn't marry her."
now, this was news to bea. she pulled her hand from his vice-like grip before facing him fully.
"what? is this some sort of prank?" she asked voice laced with incredulousness.
"bea, i didn't marry her. it's been 2 years since that happened."
at his words, bea could feel her stomach churn.
"w-what do you mean.. your parents? your brother? what happened?"
"i bought our company with my own money and broke off our engagement." he answered swiftly, "and here i thought you knew."
this made bea roll her eyes, "like i said, i didn't want to concern myself with things related to you after the stunt you pulled."
thirdy sighed before taking her hands in his, "i'm sorry.. i didn't mean to keep the engagement from you. it was just.. i was planning on ending it either way so i thought-"
before he could even finish his words, soft chuckles filled the air around him and he immediately looked up to look at the woman who he's been chasing for the last 2 years. now finally in reach again.
"i can't believe this.." she sighed, "you mean to say, i closed off everything about you and didn't hear you out for 2 years just to know this? that we could have.." she trailed before clearing her throat and shaking her head, "whatever. ugh."
this made thirdy chuckle this time before pulling her towards him, "it's fine," he said as he kissed the top of her head, "chasing you was fun, made me feel like we're in some corny ass romcom movie."
this made bea slap his chest before looking up at him, "i didn't even know you were chasing me."
he shrugged, "it always seemed like you were one step ahead of me."
this made bea smile and sigh, "so, is this the part where you say we should try again?"
thirdy smiled, "yes, my isabel. would you be so kind to give me the chance to make you mine again?"
she would be lying if she said it didn't make her heart flutter. "a million times yes."
and it was in paris again where their love blossomed for the second time around.
