Blundering: making or characterized by stupid or careless mistakes; clumsy.

Being clumsy is what got Ashley fired from a lot of places. She was the very definition of 'blundering mess' When she was just 16, she worked at the local law firm as an intern. Her job was simple. Get the important documents, scan the documents on the printer, and print copies of the important documents. While making copies she set her coffee on top of the printer and then tipped the cup over by mistake. The brown liquid made the machine sizzle and pop and eventually catch on fire. Lets just say her boss wasn't too happy about that.

Truth is going in for that interview with William was her last shot at finding a good job before she just gave up and decided to work at a greasy fast food chain for the rest of her life.

She sat at her desk texting James. She was ten minutes early and William hadn't shown up yet.

"So how's your new boss?" James texted.

Ashley let a small sigh and began to type, "Very mysterious lol. He's definitely.... different." She hit send and waited for his response.

"Oh! Is he hot?????" He replied.

At that she laughed and responded. "Very ;)"

The elevator doors opened and she immediately put her phone down and looked at him. He was once again in a crisp dark suit. Once he reached her desk she noticed the bags under his eyes and couldn't help but look at the fact that his shirt had one too many buttons undone.

"Evening Mr. Miller." Her lips curled into a soft smile.

William raised an eyebrow. "William." He corrected. "But good evening. Are you ready to get started?"

"Yes, William." She made sure to really pronounce "William" just to watch him roll his eyes and get all huffy.

"Follow me." He said and she did. He led her to his office and grabbed a tailor bag draped over his desk.

"Try this on." he handed it to her and she looked at it confused. When he didn't say anything she gave in and went to the bathroom to try on whatever was in the bag. She gasped when she saw the stunning dress. It was dark red and short. It had thin straps holding it up and its neck cut down low.

She pulled it over her curves and admired herself in the mirror. When she stepped out of the room he noticed how well it looked on her. He looked her over but caught himself and looked back at her eyes.
"For your first task I need you to do me a favor. You are going to go to this location and pick something up for me." He commanded.

"Uh ok. I mean this with all due respect but why can't you get it?" She asked in a small voice.

"It's not your job to question why I give you a task. But if you must know, I need something from another clan leader. He doesn't allow me in any of his clubs so i have to have you do it." He said while writing something on a piece of paper.

"Ah gotcha." He handed her the piece of paper and looked down at her.

"Stay safe."

"Yes sir."

"You have got to be kidding me. No freakin way." She whispered.

Ashley stood in front of the most luxurious clubs in New York City. Her and James have been saving up and trying to get on the list for years. She smiled excitedly and walked to the front of the line. The bouncer gave her a once over and asked for a name.

"Uh Ashley Aldine?" It was more of a question than an actual statement.

He shook his head. "Sorry miss. I can't find it."
