Gains and Losses (1)
[3 part closing to The Land of the Waves Arc]
A week later
"These past days have been really fun!" Tazuna started. "Eating with this many people sparks joy in this old soul." His wholesome words heard by those seated around the dinner table.
Miyuki and Kakashi were making small talk with the occasional teases from the ice queen to the copycat. Tsunami and Tazuna smiling and eating with these helpful ninjas at their dining table. The little boy picked at his food with a bothered expression, glancing at the ninjas with distaste every now and again. Bokuto joined Sasuke and Naruto in their random eating contest while Sakura looked at the three boys in disgust. Her emerald eyes glanced over to Kuroo, whom hasn't ate a single bite of his food yet. His attention was still at the door. Clearly, he was waiting for Kaiden's return.
Sakura did not know why the short Uchiha always came back so late after the feud she saw from team 9. She heard something about some more training, but what kind of training is she doing so late at night alone? Haruno couldn't put a finger on it.
Unless... has Kaiden still not been able to climb the tree yet? Even with Miyuki-sensei's help? This oddly made the pinkette's lips twitch into a sort of smile. The possibility amused her a bit. But she felt sort of pity for the girl Uchiha. She gave me advice.. should I give her advice? Maybe guidance from someone her age with help her better. Her attention went back to Sasuke, who was still downing as much food as possible. A wave of guilty confidence washed over the Haruno. When we get back to the village...
Two knocks were heard from the front door. Kuroo made it to the door faster than Tsunami had time to even move an inch from her seat. He opened the door to reveal a tired-looking Uchiha.
"Uchiha!"
Tetsurou's voice was no where near excited to see her. More like a stern mother who waited too long for their child to return home. His posture made emphasis to this motherly instinct when his hands were placed behind his hips like an upset, pregnant woman.
"You're late."
Kaiden internally groaned in annoyance. She understood that Kuroo is simply just worried for her, but countless times she reminded him there was no need to nag. The Uchiha learned to not fight about it, and go with the flow.
She bowed her head, apologetically. "Sumimasen, Kuroo-san. It won't happened again."
Kuroo obviously didn't buy it. His eye roll said it all. "You've been saying that for the past week."
