At this point I'm really glad that Aunt Sabine (I'm calling her that now as I don't feel as comfortable calling her mother after knowing what happened) forced me to take all those difficult Chinese classes, at least I can understand and communicate with the people here. It makes me feel as if I actually belong and fit in here.
I looked out the plane window and was awed by the beautiful scenery that laid before my eyes. Is this really where I grew up? I thought as I looked at the beautiful modern buildings and a few cultural Chinese homes that were mixed between. China really was a beautiful country. I just loved how there is a mixture of tradition and modern mixed between.
