Future in your eyes [A short fiction]

Chapter 6: Confusion

I woke up but I couldn't move my body, it was like as if I haven't moved in months that I don't even know what to do. My eyes were pretty blurry, i can't hear anything else but beeping sounds.

I looked beside me seeing my Mom with tears in her eyes, she rushed to the door and a Doctor came in the room with nurses.

"Alex! Oh my God! You're awake" my Mom said as she was crying.

The Doctors were questioning me but i couldn't answer them all.

I couldn't process what was going on, my hearing is still muffled.

But what I couldn't stop thinking about was 'Where is she?' 'Where is Lianna?' 'Is she safe?' 'What is happening?' 'Why am I here?'

A few days later my Mom and Dad came in the room with my bestfriend Alaina.
I quickly got up and asked "Alaina, where is she?"

"She? Who?" She was confused

"Lianna! The girl I told you I met 1 year ago!" I said

"What? You were in this hospital for almost 2 years now, you've been in a coma for 2 years Alex.." She said

"The bus you rode 2 years ago crashed onto a drunk driver's truck causing the bus to flip over leaving everyone knocked out." she continued

"No.. It can't be. You're joking right? Tell me you're joking please!" I exclaimed

"I'll leave you both alone for now, maybe both of you can help each other out" My Mom said as she wlaked out of the room with my Dad.

"What are you seriously talking about?" she asked with confusion still plastered on her face.

I felt tears rolling down my face, no it can't be! I know Lianna, and we've been together for a year now. I know I saw her, I know I felt her, I know her voice.

She just kissed me last night, it can't be..

Alaina rubbed my back as i sobbed as if there were no tomorrow.

It was night time, My parents were talking with the Doctor outside. I'm sitting here still confused about today. I knoe what I saw, I know she was with me!

This.. I can't believe a damn thing about this. This is all bullshit. Please God, I beg you if this is a nightmare please wake me up and get me out of here I beg you!

I sobbed even more while hugging my knees to my chest.

"I beg you.. I love her so much.." I whispered while still sobbing

I keep slapping myself like a fool, thinking I might wake up from this nightmare but it can't seem to be working.

"Why" is all i could say.
