"But daddy! it might hurt."
"No, honey. Don't tell this to your mom, she'll be insane."
Jane Porter looks up at the wide blue sky, sunlight breaking through the green leaves of tall trees.
"Are you ready, darling?"
Mr. Porter asked and Jane nodded. She concentrates, not paying attention on the pain she thinks while Mr. Porter is pulling a twig buried in his daughter’s heel with a tweezers. “There, no pain.”
She rested her foot on her knee and looks at her heel, poking the sore part again and again. Mr. Porter swatted her hand, “Let me put this one.” he places a purple band – aid with Dora’s face on it.
“Really dad?!” she snorts out a small laugh as she stands up.
Jane wears her yellow sandal again and started walking behind her dad and going back to their big tent they made. As they reached it, Jane immediately throws herself on the bed of pillows and lands with a groan. “Dad, how long are we going to stay here?” she asks.
Jane Porter is a kind of daughter who’ll do anything for her parents to be happy even going to a lonely island finding the gorillas her dad is looking for.
“Honey, you can go if you’re already bored here. It’s fine.” Mr. Porter replied, positioning his hands at his back. Yeah, I know it’s not fine.
“You absolutely know that I’m not going to leave you here.”
“Have I already told you that you’re the best daughter I ever have?”
“Dad, I am your only daughter.” Jane rolls her eyes, plopping down again and making her dad laugh softly.
“I’m going to take a walk.” She stands up and grab her sketch book and places it under her armpit.
“Don’t go far away, honey!” Mr. Porter calls.
Green everything is green – green grass underneath her yellow sandals, green bushes along the both sides of the path and green, big, and tall trees scattered everywhere your vision lands. Thunder grumble onto the sky, which now turns smoke grey. She looks in the sky but greeted with a small monkey with big brown eyes looking curiously down at her.
“Oh, hello there!” her voice went high pitch. The monkey is still staring at her curiously but climbs down the tree and sits on top of her head. Jane chuckles, tail of the monkey is brushing against her neck.
The little ape snatches her sketch book and runs towards the big rock and started to ripped the pages off in delight. Jane rushes towards the little rascal, “No, no, no, bad monkey, bad monkey!” trying to grab her property.
“Oh, look a banana!” the little rascal, stops and turns his head where Jane pointed, who instantly snatches the ripped pad. “I didn’t know you will fall for that! I’m such a genius.” She chuckles at herself.
The monkey is shock and started to utter cannot be decipher languages then started crying. Jane nervously tried to calm the little ape. She heard a growl behind her, she looks over her shoulder and sees a troop of baboons glaring and snarling at her. Jane screams then she run while screaming in terror.
She run and run as fast as she can…
A wide gulley came into her view, This is the end, she thought; troop of baboons running after her and a wide and deep gulley in front of her. Her heart is beating so fast, faster than the way she run, its beating because of terror and because of fatigue.
