It was your first day of high school and to tell the truth, you were dreading it. Your mum and dad kept telling you how amazing it was going to be and how much fun you were going to have, but all you could think about was how boring it was going to be, especially since you had spent practically all summer with your friends or at the hospital helping your parents.
You loved going to the hospital with your parents, it just fuelled you determination to become a surgeon even more. When you went to Grey Sloan you would normally spend time with everyone, since your parents were friends with most of the people working there. Your favourite people to be with (apart from your parents) were Arizona and Alex.
...long story short, school was going to be horrible in comparison to what you've been doing.
"Y/N! could you come downstairs now, you don't want to be late" you heard your dad shout up the stairs
you sighed and finished getting ready for the day, you decided to wear the normal jeans and a hoodie, but you did make an effort with your hair and did it in french braids.
"come on Zo let's go downstairs before dad gets mad" you said with a laugh, Zola was already laughing at you rushing around. When you guys eventually got into the kitchen you guys were a giggling mess
"what are you girls laughing about" your mum asked whilst making coffee
"Y/N is a mess" Zola said still laughing
"hey hey i'm not a mess" you said pretending to be hurt by her words
"alright calm down you two, have you got your bag ready Zola? and Y/N have you got all your things?" your dad said
"yep i have everything in my bag" Zola said with a smile
"i think i have everything, even though i really don't wanna go" you said whilst sitting down at the table
"come one Y/N its going to fun" your mum said sitting next to you
"no it won't, going to the hospital with you guys is fun and at least i actually learn stuff with you"
"well you know that we love you coming to work with us, but if you want to be a surgeon one day you need to go to school" your mum replied in a comforting tone
"i know, i know, its just not fairrr" you say very unimpressed
"well life isn't fair Y/N, you just have to deal with it" your dad said
"of course you would say that dad"
"now enough with the doom and gloom, the quicker you go to school the quicker you'll be back" your mum said
"thats not strictly true, but i get where your coming from" you said sarcastically
"quit the smart talk, now go to school"
"okay okay, come on Zo we'll miss the bus" you said as you ran to he door with Zola
"we love you guys! have fun!" your parents said
"love you too!"
Luckily you and Zola made it in time for the bus, as soon as you got to school you gave Zola a hug and she went off with Sofia whilst you went and found your best friend Tuck, along with some other people in your group.
School wasn't as bad as you though it was going to be, but you was glad it was nearly the end of the day. The teachers had already set loads of homework, so you just knew that you weren't going to be visiting the hospital anytime this week, which sucked. Anyways, the final bell rang and you went to go find Zola and go home.
When you guys arrived at home your ears were just about to fall off because of all the stories Zola was telling you about her day.
"how comes your day was so much better than mine?"
"well i'm not in high school so i have easier lessons than you and we barely did anything all day apart from talk about summer" Zola replied
"ugh my day was soo bad, i mean i do have every class with Tuck so thats a good thing, but apart from that it was horrible"
You opened the front door and surprisingly your mum and dad were both home.
"i thought you guys would be working late" you said a bit shocked
"well your dad and i thought we'd come home early since we knew how much you were dreading school today" your mum said whilst pulling you into a hug
"thank you guys, and just to let you know i would like to know about everything at the hospital this week because i cant come visit" you said with a sad face
"and whys that honey?" your dad asked
"i have loads of homework to get done"
"of course we will tell you, i promise" your mum said
For the rest of the night you did some work and then the whole family watched a movie, it had to be Frozen because Bailey and Ellis insisted on it, you didn't really mind though because it was rare that the whole family could be together.
