Chapter six

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.-Oscar Wilde

Brielle sat in between Bella, who was driving, and Jacob riding shot gun listening to her music. They drove along the la push cliffs. "If I told you I couldn't have fixed these bikes, what would you have said?" Jacob asked, breaking the silence in the truck. "Are you doubting your mad skills?" Bella smiled, glancing at him. "No. Definitely not. I'm mean, they'll run fine." Jacob laughs," It's just, maybe if I was smart, I would have dragged out the rebuild a bit."If you told me you couldn't fix these bikes, i would say that that's really too bad, but we're just going to have to find something else to do." Bella reassured him with a smile. Brielle, who hadn't been paying attention, looked up, and something moving on a cliff caught her attention, squinting to see to see what it was she saw Sam uley. "Is that Sam uley?" She asked, pointing over to the cliff. "And his cult." Jacob bitterly added as he watched them throw a struggling Jared over a cliff, making Bella gasp, slamming the breaks on her truck.

Bella jumps out the truck Jacob and Brielle following her. Jacob laughs as he looks at the dumb strucked faces of the two girls."They're not really fighting, Bella. They're cliff diving." Jacob told her as if this was normal. "What, on purpose?" Brielle asked, not understanding one bit why a person would want to risk their lives. "Scary as hell, but a total rush." Jacob said as they watched Paul run and flings himself off the cliff twisting in the air and splash into the ocean. "Most of us jump from lower down." Jacob added as he watched the intrigue look on Bella's face.

"Think I could?"

"Man, first motorcycles, now cliff diving?"

"You said it was a rush." Bella said, looking back at him. "Maybe on a warmer day. And not from the top. We'll leave the showing off to Sam and his disciples. " Jacob yet again bitterly says. "You don't like them." Brielle states the obvious. "They think they run this place. Acting all bad ass, calling themselves "protectors." Jacob said as he glared at them from distance. "What are they protecting?" Brielle asks as she takes her eyes off of Jacob and onto the people on the cliff. "The tribe, the land, their right to be jerks. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids; now look at him." Jacob said, nodding his head to Embry, who had short hair and a muscular body." That's Embry? I didn't recognize him. What happened to him?" Brielle said as she stared hard at Embry, who dared she say it got super hot."He missed some school - then, out of nowhere, he's following Sam around. The same thing happened with Paul and Jared. They weren't even friends. Now Sam owns them." Jacob told them,"Sam keeps giving me this look, like he's waiting for me or something; it's kinda freaking me out."

"Maybe you should just avoid them." Bella suggests as she looks back at Jacob. "I try but..." Jacob trails off shivering a little. "Hey. If it gets worse, we'll go to my Dad. Or you can come stay with us." Bella offers with a smile. "This is so sappy, and I'm cold. Let's go, guys." Brielle said, shivering slightly through her thick coat that was supposed to keep her warm.

A few days later, Brielle finds herself in Bella's truck with Bella, driving to Jacob's house in the pouring rain. Apparently, while Brielle was home with the flu, Jacob and Bella had hung out, but they got into an argument or something like it, and now Jacob is ghosting Bella. Brielle sneezed as she pulled her coat tighter against her shivering body. Even though the worst of her flu was over, she still had some of the side effects. They pulled into the driveway to see Jacob without a shirt, hair cut short, and tattoo on his arm walking in the rain. Bella got out telling Brielle to stay as she ran up to Jake the two argued back in forth when Jacob locked eyes with Brielle and his whole world stopped as he imprinted on her and just like with other three who imprinted on her and she didn't known she felt a connection which was weird. Breaking the starting contest, she looked down to her coat and began to pick at the string of the coat.
