Chapter 261: Don’t You Believe I’ll Cut You Down Too?

Jiang He left his hotel at around 10 pm.

It was the timing that he had decided upon after thinking long and hard.

Shennongjia was around 1400 km away from Jingdu city—a round trip, added with the time needed to find and kill the Dragoncroc Emperor, would take at least two hours.

“I’ll probably make it back around half past twelve. I’ll have a bath then and blow-dry my hair. It would then be one, which is also my usual sleeping hour.”

Whoosh!

Jiang He took to the air, turning into a thunderbolt that disappeared in the night skies.

Pinpointing a direction, he flew at three times the speed of sound and landed on the wildlands just 100 km away from Shennongjia.

A rank-six Feral came crashing towards him just as his feet reached ground.

It was a tank-sized boar.

Jiang He killed it with a single punch before starting a fire to grill it.

‘I forgot about dinner before coming, so I’ll just have some grilled meat. It’s a little waste of time at worst, and I would just have to get home and sleep later than expected,’ Jiang He mused, grilling the meat as he whipped out his satellite phone and searched for information about the Dragoncroc Emperor.

He had to admit that the military-grade satellite phone was very useful. Neither signals nor network were affected even in an old forest wildland like this, and was more than enough for watching videos, let alone checking intel and maps.

“Dragoncroc Emperor….”

“Feral Emperor.”

“Suspected to be an ancient species. Almost a hundred meters in length and covered in black scales, bearing draconic attributes over its head.”

The Dragoncroc Emperor’s existence was no secret—a simple search on the Internet would suffice, although the information available on Warrior Home was more completely. There were even several photos of the beast, and from the distant angle, it must have been captured with drones or some equipment.

The creature’s lair was Lake Dajiu.

It was a famous scenic spot in Shennongjia. Composed of lakes and marshes with various sizes, it spanned over thirty thousand Mu, and was 15 km in length from north to south and 3 km in width from east to west.

There was a flatland in the middle of Lake Dajiu surrounded by towering mountains, which was why it was known as a ‘mountain plains’ and the Hulunbuir of Shennongjia.

Naturally, that was the landscape before the Revival of Qi.

It appears that these lands had changed drastically after the Revival of Qi. A lot of the mountains had collapsed and the many lakes and marshes had combined as one, forming a great lake.

And the Dragoncroc Emperor lived there.

‘If that’s so, the Dragoncroc Emperor’s nest would not be that hard to find. I just hope that it has been staying in its lair and not running around…wouldn’t I have run around for nothing otherwise?’

As Jiang He smelled the aroma wafting from his grill meat, Jiang He took out a bottle of Origin Fluid, eating and drinking while he thought, ‘Although the Origin Fluid tastes incredible, it feels lacking when matched with grill meat. I should get some aged alcohol when I have the time like Lafite or Maotai or whatnot for my next grill session.’
