After gathering bags that Al hid in nearby bushes, I have been learning a lot. Little did I know we were in the Vampire world, it is a whole other domain where vampires live, how we got in and out? Al created some sort of portal, and that's how we escaped, but the sun bought us time... The same sun Al was shedding sweat in, and not burning as we thought he would,

"We should rest for a while," Al spoke, "I don't know about you guys but I could use a swim,"  he chuckled,

We have decided to keep off the roads and stick to the forest, we have a better chance of fighting the W.I.K.D agents, rogues, and the vampires. We stumbled across a small stream and Al was enjoying the new him, Amber didn't care though, in fact, she seemed different... Quiet, I guess Valdomore had his soldiers torture her, and I understand if that might have shaken her up a bit. Another piece of important information I have learned is that Al is a day lighter, ancient vampires, who can walk in the sun, they were considered myths though... Until today,

"Let me guess," I broke the silence, swallowing hard as I saw Al's abs, he took off his shirt, and now he was removing his trousers too, I couldn't help but notice his manhood dangling in his boxers down his leg,

"Sorry," I mumbled,

"I am going for a run," Amber said quickly shifting into her wolf, running off

"You can look now," Al spoke, with a high chuckle,

"So— a day lighter huh," I rubbed the back of my neck, watching him as he shifted to comfort in the flowing water

"Your blood is like no other Celestine...   I was born a vampire, you must understand how big this is for me... I have been dead all my life and now I have a heart, I can feel the heat of the sun... Because of you,"

Beaming at this, my smile quickly retracted into a straight face, thinking about what I almost did, I was going to sell them out and join Valdomore on his carnage path, betraying the only people that were there for me from the beginning,

"Don't feel bad," Al mumbled, his eyes were close, but he somehow knew,

"Feel bad about what," I chuckled lightly, trying to play it off,

"I know Valdomore made you an offer. That's what he does, gets into your head and your desire... For an ancient vampire, he plays dirty,"

"Oh," I mumbled, "What about Amber? Isn't she acting a bit strange?"

"Amber has gone through a lot. And being back at the coven must have triggered something... Give her some time... She will be fine,"

Saying nothing, I sat on a boulder many things rushing through my mind, I didn't want to come off as a nosy person but I still wanted to ask Al about Katherine and the woman I saw from his memories,

"Something else is troubling you," Al added,

"I— met your mother," I blurt it out, "Why did you tell me she works alongside Valdamore?"

"Impossible..." He whispered, he was shocked but not surprised, he kept his eyes closed but his eyebrows were pushed together,

"My mother was taken away the moment you were... Executed. Thrown in the pits of skulls as punishment for helping you—"

"Helping me with what?"

"I don't know— you never got the chance to tell me... Or Amber,"

I was not understanding, There are several missing puzzle pieces and without them, this gets more confusing. What did Katherine help me with I thought, she works for the enemy and there isn't a hand full of things I could think about. She was Al's mother I expected him to trust her, but I didn't... Even though there was a time in my life that I did, I just can't remember. Al on the other hand seems to have a lot of strong women in his life. Amber, Katherine, and— the woman without a face.
