– A FEW MILLENNIUMS LATER,
a lot of time had passed, but f/n didn't care to take notice to this. however, would it really matter?

                                            ~

"f/n, you're truly special, having access to both of the most sacred places on earth. sacred in their own, polar opposite ways, of course. so in that sense, i'll be your winter. hell has the scorching ices, which are so hot, they're cold. a painful place to burn, in the bitter cold of passion. but the heat is what makes it passionate despite the cold, and so is my love for you! what i mean is, that i'll show you that happiness can happen in the worst of places if you're just with the right person, i'm sorry if i was cold to you before. it'll be a great adventure no other immortal could ever experience. so i want you to choose right, f/n."

"you just exaggerated dry ice as if it were some groundbreaking phenomenon of a literary device," ririka muttered.

"what was that my dearest counterpart? not that i'm interested in what a nerd has to say."

kirari smiled, a genuine, charming one. she looked intriguingly at ririka, who was standing across from her at f/n's opposite side, daring to challenge a smirk at her counterpart. she only frowned back.

"both my IQ and EQ are higher than yours, your-majesty-the-ice-queen-everyone-loves."

"weak," scoffed kirari, "but whatever you say sweetie."

ririka cleared her throat, glared at her sister one last time, and breathed in then out before speaking, making sure to turn to f/n and hold her firmly by the shoulders.

"well, f/n, i'll start with an apology. i'm sorry for misleading you, for making you believe everything would be okay, for having you think you could trust me, for tricking you into playing my mind games. as selfish as what i'm about to say next might sound, i know i deserve a second chance! i want you to come back to me, watch me redeem myself in the most safest place there is, treat you better than anyone else that has ever taken care of you could. i hope you're not afraid of me, since i'll be your forever summer, your sun and warmth that will never set. i'll be sure that you don't regret it if you choose me..."

an calming silence went over the room as f/n shifted uncomfortably in ririka's grasp, which seemed to be tightening with every passing second.

unknownst to f/n, in those several minutes of silence, there was a war between the twins.

a staring contest.

so did f/n actually have a choice in the matter? no.

because miraculously, the pair had blinked at the same time on the third round when they were tied 1v1, kirari winning the first round and ririka winning the second.

how childish, how miserable, how fruitless. the albino twins, torn apart from their differences for as long as they remembered, were taking the simple game too seriously.

risky, but so worth the thrill, how much their destinies could change over a single twitch of an eyelid.

and before f/n could comment, she could feel ririka's hold reluctantly loosen.

"you'll see her again, when the summer arrives. it is almost the end of summer, after all." kirari stated blandly.

"okay hades. so you win. again." ririka said, trying not to sound too hurt. a compromise, yes, but getting  to keep f/n away from her sister forever? absolutely not. she knew this would happen.
