"Haven't I ever told you that you're a bitch?" She swings her staff towards Vance.

"Haven't I ever told you that you're the one who made the bitch befriend you." He swings back, poking Saffron in the stomach.

"That was like eight years ago." She huffed, going forward and sweeping his feet from under him.

He lands backwards on the mats with a thud. Saffron walks over to him and leans over the top, her hair just touching his face, tickling it.

"Next time pay more attention to my moves than my mouth, boy." She grins and stands back up. She sashays out of the training room, dropping her staff in the tub near the door.

"Who says I didn't let you win?" He shouts so she can hear him.

From a distance he heard Saffron faintly shout back, "No one would let me win."

"Oh did I hurt you, baby?" Saffron turned around to look at him as she heard his footsteps come into the lounge room.

He had an ice pack on his head, glowering at her.

"As a matter of fact those mats feel like floorboards, especially when you hit your head on them."

"Baby, I'm sure if I kiss it better you will be fine." She said turning her attention back onto the black and silver dagger in her hands.

He walks over and stops right in front of her. "Call me baby again and I'll show you who'll be whining."

She looks up at him with a grin on her face. "Like you can do that!" She bursts out into laughter.

"Wanna bet?"

Before she could say anything he dropped the ice pack and grabbed the dagger from her hand. He held it to her throat. Slowly leaning closer to her face.

"Baby." He pronounces each syllable slowly.

She raised her eyebrows, "Baby." She pronounces each syllable slowly, copying Vance.

Their lips were millimetres apart. She could feel his breath on her. She looks down at his lips, then back up to him, noticing that he was staring at hers too.

"Are you going to kiss me, boy? Or are you going to admire me all day?" She says softly.

He leans in closer, their lips almost brushing.

"Saffron, you are meant to be in your office right now studying geography with Ms. Willis." Mason's voice sounds out from the door.

She rolls her eyes and groans.

"She literally smells like a wet dog and shit all in one. I don't get why you don't just get a new hot teacher, at least it would be better and make me more motivated to study."

"Because Ms. Willis knows everything, I doubt someone around your age would know everything. Even if they were a witch or seer they would not have unlocked their full potential yet." He replies back.

She goes silent and looks at Vance.

He has moved back a little, holding the dagger between his two fingers on both hands. He looks up to her and smirks, telling her this wasn't over.

"Fine." She finally replies and gets up with an effort.

She walks past Mason with a huff and glares at him the whole way passed him.

Once she was gone, Mason spoke up. Turning his attention to Vance and crossing his arms.

"Sorry that I ruined your moment Vance, but she's like a little sister to me. So I guess I'm not sorry then, keep your hands off." He shot Vance a look and walked out, walking back to his own office to sort out paperwork.
