Mudita (n.) Muw/DIY/Taa

A Sanskrit word that literally translates to ❝pure joy❞;  Sympathetic, vicarious joy;  Taking delight in the happiness, success, and well-being of others.

Have you ever seen someone succeed and felt immense joy for them?

The person may have failed repeatedly, then almost miraculously, achieved massive success. For instance, a child learning to ride a bike, failing, then getting it right for the first time.

That's me.

Jaidee Ratanaporn but you can call me Jai.

I know. My last name seems familiar.

That's because I'm the only daughter of the richest hotel tycoons in Thailand. But all that money and glamour has never made me happy.

I've always relished in the happiness of others and it makes me happy to see others full of glee. I love making people happy by helping out in charities or tutoring out-of-school youth.

I guess it had to do with the fact that I'm mostly alone at my house except for some of the house helpers.  I consider them more of my family than my real parents who are always out working and taking care of their precious empire. So, I grew up under the care of my nanny and our driver. They taught me everything from learning how to tie my shoes to helping others. They were there for every school function.

They also taught me to always be kind and never let darkness shadow my heart. They taught me that despite all the bitterness and hatred in the world, goodness and love will always triumph.

I guess I forgot about that when I entered Ritdha Wittayakom, one of the most prestigious schools in Thailand. A school, full of prestige and pride but also full of mysterious secrets.

And it was there that I met a boy.

A very intriguing 10th-grade student in Class I.  A classmate of mine.

But I don't know if he will be the reason for the beating or the breaking of my heart.
