Storybrooke...
Everyone was happy.
Elizabeth named Smithy Captain of the Jolly Roger, giving him permission to sail to any realm he wishes as long as her precious ship returns home to Storybrooke. She began working at the Sheriff's station with Emma as a deputy. Regina gave her an apartment located a few doors down from Killian and Emma, who had become much closer in the days since Emma lost her heart. Other than that, things were business as usual for the Savior, until one morning.
"Why don't you get your own coffee maker?" Emma asks Elizabeth, who stumbles into her kitchen in her robe and slippers.
"I wouldn't get to bother you as much, Princess." She smiles groggily.
Emma anxiously sits on a barstool, staring at the clock. She thumps her leg in a double-time rhythm with the tick tock. Elizabeth leans over the counter across from her, gripping her steaming mug of black coffee.
"Princess? You seem vexed." She observes.
"What?" She asks nervously. "Me? Vexed? No! Everything's fine!"
Elizabeth gives her the look. Emma may be able to tell when people are lying, but Elizabeth is adept at noticing when someone is hiding something.
"Emma," she says sternly.
A timer dings in the other room. Emma jumps, eyes wider than than those of a deer stuck in headlights. She scurries off quickly without a word.
A few sips of coffee later, Emma returns, looking defeated rather than nervous.
"You going to tell me what's going on?" Elizabeth prods.
Emma plops herself down on the bar stool again.
She puts her elbows on the counter and her head in her hands.
"Hello?" Elizabeth waves her hand in front of Emma's face. "Earth to the Savior?"
She suddenly looks up with bloodshot eyes.
"I'm pregnant,"
The words seem to echo through the room like the fanfare of a trumpet in an empty ballroom.
Elizabeth almost chokes on her mouthful of coffee.
"Bloody hell!" She spits. "Pregnant!?"
"Yeah. Pregnant." Emma mumbles.
"Wow." Elizabeth says, still at a loss for words. "What are you going to tell Killian?"
"Tell me what?" The soothingly familiar voice coos as her enters the apartment. He had taken Henry to school, and picked up a dozen donuts from Granny's.
Emma jumps up and puts a smile on her face to hide the nervousness. "Nothing!"
Killian gives her the same look Elizabeth had earlier. "Emma. What's going on?"
"Nothing! How's Henry? Did you have a long wait at Granny's?"
"Swan. What's going on? Why are you acting so strange?" Killian asks again.
"Nothing's going on. We were just.. Uh.. We..."
Elizabeth takes a sip of coffee as Emma stumbles over her words. "Emma's pregnant." She says casually.
The bag of donuts falls from its perch on Killian's hook.
"Elizabeth!" Emma scolds.
"What!?" Killian almost yells.
Emma stutters nervusly again. "I know... I.. We.. I didn't.."
"Emma, this is wonderful!" He suddenly exclaims with a huge grin on his handsome countenance.
"Wait... What?" Emma stares at him.
He wraps her into an engulfing hug. "I love you so much," he says into her hair.
They pull away. "You're happy?" Emma smiles up at him.
"Of course I'm happy, love. I've never been happier."
And then they kissed.
