Tonight was the masquerade ball and you had to find the perfect mask to wear and you need a matching dress aswell and walk downstairs to see your house already filled

You walk into your dad's office as fix your dress

"It's already packed out there" your mom says as she walks in "you know we need to keep this door shut, your father would be very unhappy if I let guests in here"

You nod

"Oh look at you, so beautiful!" She says smiling at you

"Thanks, you look pretty good too, mom" you say turning around "I- uh do you think we'll hear from mason?" You ask as your mom helps you tie your mask around your face

"No honey, he will just come and go it's his way of doing things" you mom says "exact opposite of your father"

"Okay... we should've cancelled this party" you say turning around again

"This whole masquerade theme was his idea" your mom says picking up the picture of the four of you "I mean I don't know what it has to do with helping the homeless but once he made up his mind, he could really be a dick"

You look at her with a little smirk

"A jerk" she corrects herself "but I loved him and I know you did too. It's natural to feel abandoned, I just don't want you to feel alone." She says putting the picture frame back down

"Come on, you need your mask on now. Let's just go out there and pretend to have some fun" you say passing your mom her mask

She lifts it up to her face and holds it there as you guys walk out "I think I need a cocktail first" your mom says as you both laugh

You both walk out and your mom locks the room and you see 'Elena'

"Hey Elena! I'm so glad you could make it" you say hugging her
