When you saw who had grabbed your shoulders, you felt your body freeze completely. You weren't able to move because of the amount of shock you were in at the moment.
It was your ex, Takeshi Subaru. You hadn't seen him in years, fourteen years to be more specific. He had grown his black hair out to his shoulder and he now had a stubble, which looked absolutely hideous. But there he was, in front of you and touching you. You instantly felt disgusted with his hands on your shoulders.
You put your hands on his chest and shoved him away roughly. He grunted in discomfort when his back hit the window behind him. You turned your head to the right to see if anyone was there, but all the stragglers were inside the gym.
"You've gotten stronger since the last time we talked." He chuckled as he rubbed his back gently. His laugh, to you, felt mocking. And you didn't like that. It pissed you off tremendously.
"What do you want." You demanded, though the question sounding more like a statement. He put his hands up in a defensive manner and gave a sheepish smile. You could feel your eye twitch in irritation being this close to him, even though he was on the other side of the hallway.
"Come on. Can't old friends ca-"
"No."
Takeshi pursed his lips when you interrupted. You were getting sick of seeing his face so you decided to wrap up your conversation if you could even call it that.
"Well, if there's nothing else you want to talk to me about, I'll be taking my leave." You wiped your shoulder off, making sure to wipe off the invisible grime he had gotten on your shirt. He tried reaching out to you, but you swerved away from his hands.
As you started walking away, you heard him groan in aggravation. You weren't going to be the person who ran back to their ex. No, you were stronger than that. All you had to do was walk aw-
"Y'know, if you wanna act immature and not talk to me, that's fine by me. But you don't need to be such a bitch." You stopped mid-step. What the hell did he just say to you?
You turned your head to the side so only one of your eyes was visible from his position. The glare you were giving was so intense, it made him flinch slightly, his arms shooting from his side in a millisecond.
You know what, screw that last thought you just had. You were apparently going back to your ex. But it was for a valid reason, in your opinion. You turned yourself around and before he knew it, your hands were on his collar and his back was being slammed against the window again.
"Did you just call me immature? Me?" You gripped his shirt tighter with each word that came out of your mouth. He tried to gently push you off but with the amount of rage and adrenaline flowing through your veins, your feet were nailed to the ground.
"Because if I remember correctly, you were the one who was a coward and ran off with your tail between your legs." You stated boldly. From the hallway, you were able to hear the scoreboard beep ten times, which meant there were only ten minutes left until the game started.
"Are you done yet? I have to get inside before it starts." Takeshi insisted, rolling his eyes. You pulled him closer, looking him square in the eye.
"Why are you even here? You don't even know what school they go to." You urged, your eyes narrowing at the sight of your ex raising an eyebrow.
"Well, I actually have someth-"
"Dad? Are you coming? The game's about to start." A boy's voice called behind you. There wasn't anyone else in the hallway except you and Takeshi. Which meant there was only one person he was talking to.
