Chapter Two: Hopeless Romantic
HUENING KAI looked over at her and asked "do you have an umbrella?" "no I don't." she replied, shaking her head. "oh well I don't have a spare one but I can give you mine." "I couldn't do-" she said, shaking her head. "take it where if I'm being honest here I'm going I'm only walking a couple feet and you could be walking a lot longer than I am." he insisted. she sighed before taking the umbrella from the older male.
she stepped off the bus and opened the umbrella. slashes formed as her shoes hit the puddles. she saw the diner with a red sign that was built in the 80s. she looks in the window remembering her and her father dancing to one of her favorite songs as a child "I wanna dance with somebody" by Whitney Houston in that same diner around 14 years ago.
she took her phone out her back pocket looking at the time. 6:03 pm. she sighed, not being surprised at the fact that her father was late. something he was very good at.
she hears the bell looking at the glass doors seeing her father come in. looking rough probably from working. he slid in the booth in front of me. "sorry for being late." he said. "it's fine I'm used to it." she replied. "so..." he said. "seriously, we haven't seen each other in 10 years and the first thing you say is so! no questions no nothing?"
she plays around with her food. "what are you thinking about?" he asked. "o-oh nothing." she said, snapping out of her thoughts. all she could think about was the male she met on the bus Huening Kai.
"here she is." her father said taking the black cover off the white Toyota ae86. a flood of all the memories she made in this car. driving for miles, listening to her first music tape, her first kiss, falling in love with drifting, sleeping in the car with her mother when they were on a trip, and sleeping in this car when she got in a fight with her mother one time.
she knew once she sat in the passage seat she would make history once again. but she couldn't help but to want to make new memories with Huening Kai in this car. despite only barely knowing the male and spending 4 hours with him. she felt like she knew him since he was in diapers. she couldn't deny it anymore that she was a hopeless romantic after meeting him.
