Disclaimer: Dream has stated that he prefers to stay unlabeled. I respect him and his boundaries however for the sake of the story I will be giving him a "label." (spoiler alert he's not straight in the story)

Dream lives in a world similar to ours, except it's more technologically advanced.

Dream is a 21 year old man with dirty-blonde-slightly-wavy hair, tanned skin and freckles spanning from one cheek across his nose over to the other. He has heterochromia, causing one of his eyes to be a cool blue and the other a grey-ish green. He's around 193 cm (6'3) and nicely toned.

He lives alone in a small house in Florida along with his cat Patches. Dream didn't do anything crazy; he worked as a tutor teaching calculus and helped with coding. He played video games with his friends, sometimes streaming or recording the session for a video. It wasn't an eventful life, but it was a life he enjoyed.

There was something that bothered him- he always felt like he was missing something. He didn't necessarily know what it was but he knew it was something. He usually just ignored it; sometimes it would relentlessly nag him, but he would just do something else to get his mind off of it.

Today was one of those days.

Dream woke up and felt off. Patches must've noticed because she was being extra clingy. She wouldn't leave his side, and if he started to get too far, she'd start crying. Dream picked up on this strange behavior years ago when he first got Patches. She's a sweet cat and he loved her.

Dream spent most of his time in his bedroom which was decorated much nicer than anyone had expected.

His walls were painted a medium gray. LEDs lined the top edge of his room, glowing their usual bright green color. He had his pc along with the rest of his setup against one wall, his bed being across the room on the opposite wall. His door was a little off the end of his bed. The wall next to his door opened up into his bathroom while the wall opposite of the bathroom was filled with bookshelves, posters, figurines, and a mirror.

The mirror had a rose gold rim with raised patterns. It wasn't a new mirror, however it was nice enough to seem like it was. Dream found it at a garage sale years ago. He was much younger then, but even now he still loves the mirror. He didn't know why but he was pulled to the mirror- something about it made him feel warm. It was just a plain old mirror; nothing special about it.

Dream figured that today he would edit a video he'd been meaning to work on for a while, but found himself stuck looking at himself in the mirror. It was just a mirror. He turned away after a few minutes to his desk where he sat down and worked, eventually drifting off to sleep.
