A long, long time ago, in a castle far, far away, a young princess was born. At least, er, that's what his parents say. Yes, in fact, on this fateful evening, a prince was born. It was a scandal, because, for generations, the entire line of family had been birthing princesses.
The reason behind this? An even longer time ago, the queen at that time snuck out just hours before going into labor, and made a deal with a witch, that all of her bloodlines future children shall be girls. And so, all of the bloodline's children were, in fact, completely female.
Until, that is, Queen Elyana found out that she was completely infertile. To keep the risk of some sketchy Princess from another Kingdom coming to take over her Kingdom, she too snuck out one night and found the exact same witch from fifty years before, who hadn't aged a day, and made a deal. She would receive a perfect baby, but at an unspecified cost. Queen Elyana gladly accepted, and nine months later she had A beautiful baby…
Boy. A baby boy. The problem with this, is that the entire kingdom was run by females, meaning Queens had more power than kings, and kings could not be from the current kingdom. If no queen? A suitor from another Kingdom would come to take over the entire kingdom, therefore cutting off the current bloodline. She was outraged, and fled from the hospital to find the disgusting witch, but when she got to the cave where the witch lived, the door was gone. It was just a mountain. No door, no opening, not even a hollow cave. Just a solid mountain, a mountain where no one dared to live. Queen Elyana ran to the village, and asked almost every villager about the witch, and they all replied the same thing. The "witch," was actually an old lady who used to go hiking up in the mountain, but had died thirty years ago in a landslide. Defeated and confused, Queen Elyana begrudgingly raised her son, shielded away from society so much no one even knew he existed….
