"Olivvveeerrr I'm so t-tired, can you slow down?" I groaned, sweating.
"Come on, we're almost there." He panted.
We had been hiking for the last two hours, the second tallest mountain in the whole kingdom.
"We're here!" Oliver grinned, pulling me the rest of the way up the last rock.
"Oh thank God. I'm known for being Royal, not athletic, you a-"
"Yeah, okay Prince Athletic. At least there's a bench." Oliver laughed, leading me over to an old stone bench directly in the middle of the clearing.
"H-how'd you know this was even here?!" I gasped, looking at the bench, which was actually a memorial to the long line of princesses born of this kingdom.
"I didn't. I just had a good vibe from this place, y'know?" He smiled, a genuine smile, gazing down over the little town. I nodded, sitting down gently in the bench with a contented sigh.
"Sooo… What do you think about having to own this whole place?" Oliver muttered, leaning back and closing his eyes.
"Well… I always wanted to be like my mother since I was super young, she was my idol… until I turned about eleven…. And she started showing her true colors. She's cruel and selfish. She put extra tax on food for a whole month because she wanted a new expensive ball gown. Once, I snuck out of the castle and I was locked in the dungeon for a week. I've watched her kill people, Olive. She wants me to be her daughter… I can't do that for her. That's not who I was born. I'm just a defective prince. Every Year I have more and more dread and… I know I probably shouldn't be telling you but I'm thinking of maybe just… ending it when it's my time to rule. Just to fuck things up one last time. Get on last win. Force my mom to end her line. I don't know. What else would I do Oli-" I was cut off by Oliver pulling me into a hug.
"Don't say stuff like that Alex! You fucking dumbass…" He pulled back, holding my chin with his hands, looking at my face, which was covered in tears at this point, and smiled softly.
"You're so dumb." He laughed, before leaning forward and connecting my gaping lips to his mouth. I gasped, not pulling away, frozen in shock. I surprised myself when my lips started to move in sync with Oliver's, and after forgetting to close my mouth he snuck in with his tongue, drawing a strange sound of my throat. It took all of my impulse control to gently push him away and gasp for air, feeling my face burning up.
"O-Oliver!" I gasped. He shrugged, grinning.
"What was that for?" I laughed, elbowing him.
"To distract you from being sad, dummy." He yanked on a tiny piece of my hair, giggling.
"Ah-?! O-oh. Well I guess it worked or whatever." I pouted, rolling my eyes.
"Noted: Alex Sad=Kiss. Great." He laughed as I tried to push him off of the bench, blushing furiously.
"Olive! How are we supposed to get down the mountain?! I am not walking down this thing." I whined, stretching. Olive sighed, "Fine." And led me over to a little cart and tracks near the edge of the mountain.
"It only goes down. It looks pretty sturdy to me!" Oliver grinned, slapping the side of the cart.
"Oh hell no- Olive!" I screeched as he flung me over his shoulder and hopped into the cart, setting me down in one of the seats and lowering a metal bar. I tried pushing it back up, but Oliver 'tsked' at me and pushed it into locked position, pulling a lever that released the brakes. I held on to Oliver, who sat next to me, for dear life as we hurtled down the mountain at about seventy five miles per hour.
